went here in july, hospitals, doctors, vets donate supplies, think they got the ambulance and x ray machine locally, a local doctor works there in his spare time. tourists donate aswell. its worth going to if your ever there.

I don't think that the local was working on that one turtle.. When they started cutting, the flipper started moving as if it was in pain.

Even with local anaethetic surgery is still uncomfortable. It's a weird sensation.

i had surgery a couple times w/ local. no pain or sensations. That is with surgery on flesh and down to the muscle having cancer removed. (which is what the sea turtle was having)

i have had dental operations with local deadening and it still hurts.

I had ten teeth removed at once (babies that weren't coming out) and there was still some pain as well as the terrible scraping sensation. I have also had other local surgeries and you still feel the weird pull where the local ends. Numbness is uncomfortable. So even if the anaesthetic is adequate, the turtle will still not feel normal. It has to suck it up to get better. :)
