hey man, ive fished the river since i was a little kid (now im 24) and the answer to ur questions as of right now ur best bet would either be the dsr (you have to pay to get on it), the trestle (lots and lots of fish go in the pool, but there are also lots of fishermen), or the ball park pool which is already producing a lot of fish. i fish a stream that breaks off the top part of the trestle and always do pretty well.
Fishing is about relaxing and having fun. Although the town hole is very conveniently located, it makes no difference. Perhaps this outting they didnt have much time, or didnt prefer to walk or float the river. What is it to you? I live in MD and trout fish very avidly, i see plenty of people pull up and walk 20 ft to the water. Doesnt mean they arent fisherman or enjoy the sport and relaxation
King Salmon weigh in excess of 20 pounds. Trying to beach them with 10 to 15 pound test line is a bit difficult. If you use heavier line in clear water then you end up NOT hooking them. Too bad you do not understand fishing. As for the serenity, almost all rivers have towns, and you have to fish where the fish are unless you are one of those serenity guys who does not care if you CATCH.
this is one of my favorite holes.and not all people snag if you use the right lures you can get them to bite.thank you yankee for your videos and for the pictures you took of my legal fish i caught. see you in a week
a bit dificult? yeah? so what! does your family's survival depend on getting that fish to the bank in record time? if you cant beach a 20 pound salmon with 15 pound line then you got bigger problems than you think. if you can get it close enough to the shore to net it, then you should be able to beach it no prob!!! ive landed 30 pounders on 10 pound line here in washington. i agree, all rivers have towns. but who the hell fishes 30 feet from the road along side a 20 foot tall? cement wall?
No it does not. Yes many use smaller lines and beach the fish. I am happy that YOU can do that but not everyone is an EXPERT, and an Expert Ass. We each fish in our own way to enjoy the sport. You are nothing more than a snob whose abilities have made him smug.
your a douchebag. Serious get your head out of your ass retard. Have you ever been to pulaski? i live right by it i fish the oswego river but anyways. pulaski is a very very small town and who fishes 30 feet from the road along a 20 foot wall? THE PULASKI RESIDENTS! theres no other spots in pulaski where the salmon run dumb ass. not everyone can whip out tons of cash and travel and fish around the world. for us locals this is it and this time of year is the best. leave us alone
douchebag? retard? get my head out of my ss? why such personal insults dude? and what do you mean there's no other spots where the salmon run??? you mean to tell me they just appear in that stretch of river, along that concrete wall, without passing through any other holding water along the way? and who said anything about tons of cash and fishing around the world anyways? man, so glad i live (and fish) in washington state!
@prosteelheader Welcome to Pulaski. When September hits the circus is in town. It's unfortunate though that people from out of town only see the snaggin concrete jockeys when they think of the SR. Truth be told, it's the best Salmon, Trout, and Steelhead fishery I've ever seen. Just stay clear of the town.
@steelheadjake I was planning on going up there october 9th -11th. Where is a good place to fish on the SR at that time. This is going to be my first time going up there. And how long should the floro leader be. And how many split shot should i put on my leader.
you were also asking about leader stuff and the answer to that is a leader no longer than 4 feet and depending on the water cfs you need to adapt to how many shots u gotta put on. low or medium flow i like to use one #1 shot. u got any other questions just message me and ill see if i can help. good luck and tight line

@niggahigganum2 Sorry I didn't find this til late. But If you come back up, I would suggest soon, the Steelies will be in. I'd hit any good looking water between Altmar and Pineville pools. The Trestle pool is always a good starting point. I'd use 10lb main with a three to four foot 6-8lb flourocarbon leader. Use however many split shot it takes you to get a good bottom bouncing drift. With weight, it always depends on the water levels at the time.
@prosteelheader " but who the hell fishes 30 feet from the road along side a 20 foot tall? cement wall?" --> Thats where the fish are. You go to the fish.
man oh man!!! theres nothing in the world like salmon fishing with the roar of an 18 wheeler flying by in the background!!! such serenity!!!
by the way, whats with the net at the end of this video? you affraid your family is gona go hungery or something? jesus christ, there was an awesome beach right there you could have drug the thing up onto. good thing the guy with the net waited till the fish was less than 6 feet from shore. dont want to strain yourself!!! you go net guy!!!
are u kidding me man? this is such a nice place to be..you havent lived and thtas how tdo do it neeting the fish when it comes in close you dont go chasing it down river
