  • This was filmed only a year and a half after Woodstock people! There has never been such a progression in music like there was during the '60s through to the early '70s. Aside from Arthur Brown, Alice was the original shock rocker. Marilyn Manson has tried, he's tried real hard. He'll never be ALICE!

  • wow... so decadent, so beautiful, so creative, so passionate like flames

  • just movd from bklyn ny this past august remember the coop saw him at the garden 2wice want to play golf wih him alice about 68 dam were did the 70ties go rember the coop blue turk

  • Budweiser psychedelia.

  • has better legs than lady gaga

  • Huge Alice Cooper fan! Saw him live in Akron,Ohio this summer. He didnt do this song =/ I made a remix/cover of this song! Check it out on my page!

  • Love, love, love this clip.

  • Does any one know what the date and location are for this vid? I saw Alice on 4-16-72 at Olympia Arena playing between Lighthouse and Steppenwolfe, But I am sure Cooper played out alot that year with 18 and School's Out both going Vinyl that year.

  • @AmandaEL100

Alice Cooper live in Detroit 1971 - Is It My Body. Read much?

  • The Alice Cooper Band is underrated, I think. They were excellent musicians. They could have made it without the theatrics if they really wanted.

  • LUV DIGGIN' UP THESE OLD BONES!!! SING IT ALICE

  • was n the alice fan club 1974

  • @MultiCowboy22 I joined in 72 from the directions on the back of my Killer LP.I received a few letters from Old Chelsea Stn,N.Y. One had chicken feathers in it. I still have it!!!!

  • why there are two versions of this song in the same concert........is this for the televion

  • A majestic piece of from a long gone era. True misicienship.

  • is this "him" from the powerpuff girls? cuz this tune is hypnotizing

  • Musicianship as its best. I keep coming back to this clip, wonderful performance.

  • Alice's legs look good in tights. :3

  • where the heck did they come up with these arrangements? Was there no such thing as hair detangler back then?

  • @wyldkatt2005 This is what you call innovation, something no musician has had since

  • @hbk72777 a blanket statement with which I am happy to agree. So many things can be done with rock, so why so much imitation?

  • I rember these guys played at the Aladdin Hotel Casino in Vegas in 1976 or 77 and before the show they came in the resturant i was working in and i was the drummers bus boy. They were all sitting at differnt tables and drinking . You could tell these guys had money at the time everybody was kissing there ass.

  • Love it to death

    Thanks for posting

  • fuck i luv so much Alice back then....he was badass

  • Fuck I love this song!

  • rrrrrroooooooooooccccccckkkkkk!!!!!

  • Remember when musicians were musicians and actually played MUSIC with out false instruments and phony vocals? and then threw in a WONDERFUL rock show, which this guy created???

  • wow.. state of the art analogue music back then kicks the rocket science out of today’s music! Hey kids.. have you got the time to find out what music really is?

  • Don't do drugs kids

  • @ilovemurphy971 Honestly Alice Cooper never Never, did hard drugs but he did drink and he realized he had to go into rehab like STAT!

  • @molarmama5 Yea, it almost killed him....twice. But, he says it was God that took it away....I dunno about that but it seems as good an explanation as anyone could give....the urge just....left him. Weird is what that is

  • @luccieighteen I had the pleasure of FINALLY meeting him, this August. He is just a very charismatic, likable guy! He has the bluest eyes.

  • vintage alice cooper!!

  • personally my favourite period of Alice Cooper.... the early 70's.... awesome period.. raw n crude... dirty rock n' roll...

  • It's a Gibson Festival ! That is one nice hoody there Alice.

  • He is great.

  • WOOWW THIS IS LIKE OLD :o i'm sixteen btw and going to him october 23th :D LOVE HIM

  • I saw Denny Dunaway's 5th Avenue Vampires open for Alice not too long ago...they are very reminiscent of early Alice Cooper Group....

  • I see the same resemblamce in Miley Cyrus, Kesha and or Lady Gaga nowadays HAHAH! Only the Coop handels it way Better drunke ohhhohhohhyeah ILLUMINTI Till the END!

  • This vid is a classic. I haven't found the long version of this song except on videos. Love it to Death has the short version I believe. I'd rather watch this anyway :D

  • It's amazing this is the "Son of a Preacher Man" LOL I just Love him so much! Always Have!

  • Great vid!!! Thanks for sharing;)

Do you have the whole show, or it's just one song performed for T.V?

  • am i the only one who thinks young alice cooper and young maynard james keenan look kinda similar?

  • Disturbing is RIGHT ! Whatever was I thinking?! Great music though! (WHO wrote those tunes!? LoL!) The shows WERE "THE" best! Thanks for posting...

  • Michigan was great for live shows in the early 70's. Love Cooper was a treat to see live.

  • The effects of this music on a 10 year old kid with an older sister who was into it were long-lasting. Remember the "School's Out" album with the graffitii'd desktop cover?

    Outstanding.

  • how strangely erotic and disturbing :) I would rather see Dennis Dunaway peeling off though. xxxx

  • Saw Alice last night in Detroit last night. If you haven't seen Alice you have to, he is easily the best frontman in rock n roll.

  • @wealldie12

I saw him 10 years ago but was too wasted to remember the show...I'm going to see him next week at the whiskey in hollywood...this time I'll be sure to remember it!

  • This would make more sense if he was a girl

  • @KiIIroyWuzHere this is why the 60's and 70's are so special and non violent.

  • @KiIIroyWuzHere then she would be a lesbian!

  • Absolutely vintage awesome old school Coop

  • I'm 39 years old and that was scary.

  • @scottymurk you were warned not to look at the shower....when 'IT' walked out. I did ONCE...still not sure of the gender and the doctors says with more medication and shock therapy the seizures may eventually stop, but they don't hold much hope.

  • Heavens to Murgatroyd, this 'vampyros1' knob jockey & his comments below...just goes to show how some people really have a stiff long rod shoved firmly up their arse permanently. Alice is an integral part of classic rock and pop history.

  • Early Alice, excellent, the start of his prime period. Friend of Zappa, Dali, Keith Moon (classic friendship, lots of alcohol, Moon cleaning Alice's house in a French maid's outfit, brilliant), etc. Check out a website (sorry, can't write the URL here) thisisnotporn. net & do a search for Alice Cooper - you'll see him in a photo with Colonel Sanders. Legendary.

  • That body suit HADTA hurt.

  • @MsFUDGEYOU aaaarh cumon U would tounge kiss him if he had bigger tits

  • @MsFUDGEYOU What are you talking about? Alice is adorable.

  • Great band!! too bad alice quit afterBdB

  • @redneck6310 Um first he didn't "quit," and secondly they made another album ("Muscle of Lo ve") before the band broke up...

  • i place ozzy, alice and manson in the same genre: highly skilled in music but oh so very keen in their lyrical statements.... their intellectual messages sent by shock artistic delivery is what i call "hey! wake up you bunch o' sheoples!!!!". which is still, sadly, needed. just sayin

  • ...damn, i was 3-4 years old when this was performed and yes, in the same city! wow!

  • A bunch of REALLY LONG-HAIRED made really GREAT MUSIC!!!

  • SG-orgasm...

  • that...and y'r name is 'Alice....'

  • 31 people dont like Coopers body...!

  • jajajja, maestro!

  • I can't help but laugh the whole time!! This is halarious! Love his style and sexy way of taking off his suit :D

  • Great group!! Very underrated musicians!!

  • they really were a band of monsters. it's nice to see how the old school boys played.

  • the first part b4 da FAGGOTT SHOW!!!! is great

  • I can't help but get a strong Screaming Jay Hawkins vibe from Alice....it's like they put themselves so much into the music that they turn into someone else entirely during the performance. THAT is what's missing from today's music - you have to either play straight from the heart or immerse yourself entirely into the song so that you become the music...after playing this song you should feel like a sleazy degenerate - dangerous! Today's musicians are too worried about looking cool.

  • @glimmertwin1977 thats the truth brother truer than any performer will ever know

  • 40 years later and this is still as outrageous as it was then. I love this band of musicians.

  • Anyone can tell me where they got this video?????

What album belongs to this video?????

  • @jlqwalker love it to death

  • @jlqwalker This was from the 3 album Love It to Death!!

  • haha, amazing fucking long version!!

    Alice's the fucking best!!

  • This is fucking awesome! An extended version

  • This band could kick ass

  • @brownj2

    they still kick ass!!!

I saw them last year & were as good as way back in the day.

  • I'm a teenager, and I love Alice Cooper, I don't care what my friends (that listen to lil wayne for example) think, I love him!

  • @Brummels1 Good for you. We need more teens like you to keep "great" music going. It's people outside of the norm like you that keep this stuff alive, so thanks, and enjoy. Once you discover Alice, there is no turning back.

  • 1970s Sg + a Plexi marshall >< love love love it!!

  • The best BAND in the world as far as I'm concerned from 1971-1972. Three incredible albums.

  • Alice Cooper is the truth. Enough said.

  • Being swooning for over 30 years! :Long live The Coop! (Wicked, evil, grin)

  • great classic alice video, it you know where I could get a legal video with no copywright, even third party cliams, let me know, I only use public videos on my site, I did not realize until recently that alice and I close in age, and I have like his songs since the 70's, and anyone down with alice cooper is cool with me.

  • Fuck Asia, Fuck Asian nuts, Fuck all Asian People as a whole, if you want to be a REAL Asian you will move to America, build something worthwhile, have a kid, stay here, and kiss my big White ass, you raw meat eating piece of shit ass People. I shit on Asia, everyday, Fuck you all.

  • I'm so old I actually saw this show. Alice Cooper, Iggy, MC5, The Amboy Dukes, SRC....all these guys were the local acts at the time. We had it made!

  • I generally take off my shoe when rocking the Motor City. I mean why the hell not?

  • flippin' AWESOME.

  • About time to Rock N Roll HOF inducted him. To bad it came after shit acts like ABBA and the Bee Gees.

  • I have been a fan of Alice Cooper since 1971, I was a little kid but I knew what sounded great and Alice did just that. I'm Eighteen played on the radio and I showed it to my mom and she agreed Alice is "going places" ...yes, indeed they really were Billion Dollar Babies.

  • @calvinboy27 The firsts time I saw the AC band was in 1971. I was 11 and went with my older brother and three of his friends. It changed my life forever !

  • Love it to Death! Cool!

  • Orgasmic change of pace ! Love Alice Cooper. RIP Glen Buxton!

  • Now That's Hot!

  • To paraphrase Frank Vincent Zappa "rock isn't dead. It just smells funny."

  • Count22 OK youtube fascist. I was attributing the quote to Zappa because I actually witnessed him saying it. This isn't my college masters dissertation required to be letter perfect with footnotes and in APA format. Did you spend the rest of your day trolling the other 950 posts for grammar, spelling and punctuation? The world told me to thank you for being a goober. Not to mention considering the average age of youtube posters 50% most likely don't know who Davis was to begin with.

  • @kurtizzyflush 1st off, it was an attempt at enlightening to where the line came from.2nd,you didnt witness it moron it was on one of Zappa's live albums(Fillmore east maybe). But since realizing your incapabilities of learning something I now withdraw the remark.Wow,that must have really taxed your brain...lol

  • The program 'Detroit TubeWorks' was broadcast on WTVS (PBS 56), but the show was produced by and simulcast on WABX-FM radio -- one of the country's original 'underground' album rock stations.

  • Géniale !!!

  • mmmmm plumbicon tube cams!!!!!

  • Love that raw rock sound! :)

  • The comparison is relevant as a statement of how their talent transcended style; disparate genre's like hip-hop and rap are nowhere near as musically intricate, melodic or creative, and Nirvana and Pearl Jam, 2 of the foremost progenitors of similarly aggressive guitar-driven music of the last 20 years, while good, were never fit to grovel at the feet of the Alice Cooper group either. Dumbass-

  • @vampyros1 stupid lyrics, bad/basic chords and rhythm, horrible voice, your statement shows that you cannot understand real music or you are just used to distortion... that's what the rock culture has taught you, like idiotic teenagers who like repetitive rhyming black dudes... the day you open your ears to real music you'll find all this pattern filled garbage disgusting! nothing new here, i see this all the time, and it's sad!

  • @vampyros1 who cares

  • Wish Glen Buxton was still around. Great guitarist and a wild/crazy guy!

  • @walrustusks1 lol,he had a real Mace leaning up against his amp in Boston Garden. He was ready for it.Real Rocker.

  • What's wrong with the picture??

Oh yeah that was the 70s special effects.

  • oh yeah baby,,,,,love ALICE !!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for the upload! Never seen this! Happy 63rd (a day early) to Vincent Damon Furnier! Visionary, trendsetter, dagger in the heart of the peace/love generation, friend of Zappa and Dali, golfer (and finally) RRHOF inductee!

  • @Thunderfingers999 Never saw Alice before except on Album covers & listenend to him - better late than never, huh?

  • I love it !! who else would bring marshall double-stackers to a gig in a little chicken-shit TV studio ...Lol The extended piece was a stage thing to give the crowed a little more than just what was on the record........

  • i fucking love his little smirk at the very end.

  • @lettercamp Hey I recognize you from Kiddo.

  • What is great about this video is it brings you right up close to the band, like they are playing in your living room. Interesting little extra middle part to the song added.

  • I bet Alice was freaking out the straights back in 71 with that get up. LOL

  • Sorry but i disagree. The album with Dwight Frye was his greatest achievement with Billion Dollar Babies a close second and Schools out third. Nightmare 4th. Believe it or not i like his 1979 work, From the inside 5th. So i would put killer 6th. Best Alice Cooper song by far was Alma Mater. My stars, Gutter Cat, Dwight Frye, Generation Landslide.

  • @catman08012 First of all, Love it to Death was not 'his' acheivment it was 'theirs'. Vincent Furnier would be nothing more than a footnote at Cortez High if it were not GB, DD MB, NS. Secondly, most "Cooper-know-anythings" agree that Killer was THEIR best work. I agree. Pretty much a toss up after that between your fav and Muscle of Love. Yes, Alma Mater takes top honors for School's Out. Mr Coopers post ACG work was nothing to write home about. A couple of love ballads. Unfinished...?

  • @slamoslut.... DITTO....

  • @slamoslut "post" ACB or ACG has nothing to write home about? Are you serious? There was the little album called Welcome To My Nightmare you might of heard about, umm perhaps "From The Inside?" Hear of that one? It's the #1 album for many Coop die hards. What else, "DaDa" a tremendous underrated album that is supewr huge for Coop cult followers. Lace And Whiskey and Brutal Planet also great underrated albums. The orginal line up is bad ass, but post ACG nothing special is not a smart statement.

  • este tema aparece en el LP " love it to death". es el primero del lado B.

  • I dedicated a Free (amateurish) song to the Memory of Glen Buxton, under CC-BY-SA. Search for Marti Van Lin + Buxtonised.

  • Holy smokes, what a spectacular longish and extensive version. Thank you so much for sharing :-)

Love from Holland (The Netherlands) :-*

  • Now Cooper is a total born-again Christian golfer ....funny how people change.

  • Where's Alice when we really need him? Oh, right...he's on the back nine.

  • ALICE AT HIS COOPER BEST FUCK YEA...666...

  • Classic performance with the classic lineup. Coop rules and this is a fantastic glimpse into the early days of live "shock-rock"...thanks for posting!

  • 28 twits

  • how awesome is this ? Will always love Alice but to me it just was not the same after the AC Group, some brilliant stuff mind you ( I own it all ) but still ..

  • The reason rock is dead is, as Zappa said years ago that the industry is run by twit shoe salesmen who's sole(!) purpose was to reshape it into their own pinhead image-and that's what they did-you can rebel as I do with a swift smack in the head of any industry dipsh*t you may come across in life.

  • I am a hardcore Alice Cooper fan, but I enjoyed Emilie Autumn's cover a lot better.

  • have to agree there, this is the incarnation of the band that I saw many times during that period, they absolutly rocked!!! and a dynamic live show did I say LOUD!!!!!??????

  • any questions, class?

  • Rock n Roll Hall of Fame 2011!!! Long live Alice!!

  • Imagine if bands today had to play live like this!

  • What an era! I grew up in Motown and saw Alice Cooper several times at The Eastown Theater from 1970-1973. Brings back memories!

  • better than 99% of the crap you see these days, technology is no substitute for talent as these guys have prove

  • Glad that Alice finally got put in the hall of fame, it took them long enough. LONG OVERDUE. These guys were kicking ass while other previous inductees barely learned to wipe there own asses.

  • the gratest band "!!!

  • In their prime these guys were great live show... One of the best...

  • so many great memories the orignal alice

  • Had so many beers to this song .......

  • He's so sexy. I say this as a straight man, but Alice captivates me - I'm caught in his web. He's irresistable.

  • Long live Detroit Rock City!

  • Cooper should get back with the ol group and start drinking again..then perhaps he could do something worthwhile for the first time in ages.

  • "my father and uncle made me listen to this band when i was a kid. i am such a fucked up individual, but i like it !!!"

  • DINOSAUR *****

  • DINOSAUR

  • what does he say? 'and they just might be yours and they just might be my DANANANANANA' ?????

  • Perfect way to start my day (:

  • I love his clothes...

  • I love the live versions and stage tricks/ persona of classic alice cooper the more i see

  • Awesome video, *****

  • that is so freaking hot

  • Love the placing platform shoe on the mic....epic.

  • Rock is not dead, it's just waiting for everyone to quit playing those stupid fucking video games and develop some real talent. Playing Guitar Hero does not make you a fucking Guitar Hero. Suck on these little Asian nuts baby.

  • So fantastic to see this - I wish we'd had t'internet in 1972., this is the Alice I loved in the 1970's. One of the best tracks they ever did.

  • @penibear You could have afforded a show back then.
