This is just as Mike Smith from Suffocation has said, the new era in music consists of releasing only one song, but these songs will just be the best that the bands can make at the time. The Barghest O'Whitby is the perfect proof of that. Fucking hail My Dying Bride, they deserve eternal respect.

I wasn't really into the very beginning of the song, but mostly because I'm not a fan of Aaron's screaming. And yet, overall, I give it a 12 out of 10. Amazing, as usual. Can't wait for their next release. Evinta was an interesting change from the usual style, and I loved that also. Still one of the only bands I know of with such diverse sound.

@KilledByLifeItsef I did!It was a quite traumatic experience listening to my Aaron's precious,beloved voice I've been impressed by a million times sing things like:"yeah,yeah,yeah".For about half the album I couldn't believe in my poor ears!The only decent enough song was The Whore,The Cook and The Mother.I know that Under Your Wings And Into Your Arms is from there.I probably didn't like it.MDB has much better songs with similar lyrics.

Evinta was an event. I bought it and that same night sat and listened to it from start to finish in my headphones in complete darkness and it was very moving. I haven't listened to it since but that is not because I didn't like it is just the type of music you play when in a certain mood. I will be getting this EP as well, it sounds beastly.

I don't get the point, they've "done" this style with actual memorable songs twenty years ago, why retread it now? I love that early stuff the most but just writing a B-side version in its style isn't really enough.

@Nibbbling See, I disagree with the assertion that this is a "retread". The vocal styling is more nuanced than "The Snow in My Hand", the drumming far more precise than "Sear Me". I will not deny that the middle section could have been shaved by a few minutes, but otherwise this is a pretty seamless...and gripping blend of MDB's sound in a longer format than normal. And also with a twist, the ending reminds me of nothing like their classics of past decades: it is practically sludge.

Absolute masterpiece.FANTASTIC...So great they are back to the roots.Their new albums were fantastic but the best music they have created is found in their first albums.MDB are by far the top doom band on earth and they keep proving it...one of the best songs iv heard in my life.
