i bought a copy of this for my A310 about 20 years ago. In my opinion theres no better port of elite. Sadly the game seems to be "lost in time" while the a310 ist still in my ownership although not tested if its still working. Found a copy of Elite in the web so this will be my next project for the near future ... :D

ArcElite was the best version of the original Elite. Although I still have a soft spot for Chris Sawyer's Elite+ on the PC.

Merry Christmas! Christ this game was good, I had the BBC B version and it was fab but this blew me away! Even beat the Atari ST version. Surely it's time for a remake?!

Wow, never seen the Archimedes version of Elite before. This looks so cool compared to the wireframe original on BBC B.

So fast on an emulator , that its unplayable . Still , I can go back to playing Elite on my electron and it's not a bad version at all . Actually , it's a v good one .

Ah, this was THE definitive version - and probably the hardest too. Wasn't it something like a mammoth 9000 kills plus to make it to Elite? I'm sure it was some insane number that I never managed to reach.
Anyone remember what the missions were?

7200 kills for Elite IIRC. ArcElite only had 4 missions - Genesis Capsule, collect ingredients for disease cure, kill Zartid, kill pirate with a grudge against you (not necessarily in that order).

Elite on the Archimedes was quite a bit different than other versions but i would go as far as saying it was also the best of the bunch.
C64 version shall always remain my most preferred but the Archimedes Elite is charmingly unique and better in a number of ways.Well worth playing
