@bbphnix well, 90% of the videos youre watching are probably emperor scorpions, very common scorpion pets since they look pretty and their sting is really weak. their main form of attack is their really developed pinchers :) so thats y. plus sometimes scorpions and even spiders do not wish to waste their venom on certain prey because it takes energy for their bodies to make and secrete the venom.

@Gir62 i got mine for $20 at a local place look there before you go to big brands like Petsmart/Petco, use also just friendly advice make sure you use potting soil for substrate instead of sand because theyre tropical just make sure the soil has no pesticides or styrofoam in it the best to use is peat moss soil which can be bought cheap at lowes also make sure you make it 3-4 in. deep because they burrow in the wild so they need a hiding spot when they want privacy good luck with your scorpion

I used to have a female AES for a while, and really loved her. I noticed that the other scorpion in the cage deferred to the one who ate the cicada. Do they have a heirarchy or are they cooperative? My scorpion had babies, but unfortunately I was unable to keep them alive long enough to reach maturity so I have never seen the animals compete or cooperate.

One thing I did notice though was how much personality and intelligence the feeder crickets had.

But is it so hard to believe that if it has a nervous system and can register stimuli such as heat and light, it why can't it register pain. FUCKING sweet video though.

In the case of being eaten alive, I'm sure total nervous system shutdown would be preferential.
