  • Gay a long time ago ment "happy"

  • I didn't feel gay

  • This is the actual size the South used during the Civil War. It's basically why they lost.

  • "And thell all feel gay when Jonny comes marching home" People never would have thought that it would turn into how we use it as now. xD

  • @Fallen80sChild More like; "....and they will all feel gay when Johnny comes skippying home again..."agree with ya bud...way to funny

  • ...ok I'll have to add- had a couple of the "cannon balls" left they had this felt-like material around them. I would soak 'em in lighter fluid, light them and then quickly fire 'em.... amazing I still have all my fingers...

  • I had one. Somehow made the trip to college in the 70's. Put it on a balcony at the fraternity house and shot bottle rockets at the greek houses around us.

....I was legendary..... back in the day....guess that explains a lot!

  • I had one, it was great fun, I used to shoot Germans when they appeared

on the old TV series "Combat", the plastic ball bounced off the TV screen.

My parents didn't seem to mind.

  • I remember this toy well, it put me in the hospital in traction. My friend had this cannon and we were playing in his backyard when he fired it. The cannon ball hit me square in the forehead and caused me to fall backwards hitting my head on the ground causing a severely sprained neck. Gotta love childhood, yeah.

  • Remember, every boy wants a Remco toy!

    ...and so do girls.

  • all reenactors who were young then loved this commercial

  • I never had a toy cannon make me feel gay.

  • Best toy I ever had. Those cannon balls would shoot 100 feet with force!

  • The kid next door (4 years older than me) had one of these. I was SOOOO jealous.

  • I don't feel gay, I want my money back!

  • i never got one but my brother did and did we wear it out still remember getting blasted by that plastic cannon ball great toy.

  • This Toy came out in the Christmas of 1960.

They were cool. A lot of Fun.

  • I can just imagine the protestors...guess they do not have the $11.98 because they are too busy complaining to work..

  • i had one ...but if i remember right ,it was recalled due to safety issues they told me santa came and got it back ha ha ha

  • Darn! I missed out...my folks couldn't afford a $11.98 cannon toy like that. I had to settle for knocking over those cheapo miniature plastic soldiers in mock battles with whatever projectiles were handy...If I had one of those John Reb cannons I could've DEMOLISHED the other guy's troops...

  • Toyweapon fans will be interested in the YAHOO! group of the same name: toyweapons!

  • Toys really were better back in the old days. Makes me pissed off to be born in the late 80's.

  • came with a Cloth flag or a Plastic Flag.

Foam Cannon Balls or Plastic Cannon Balls

  • That song is very similiar to Vaughn Monroe's, biggrst hit, "Ghost Riders in the Sky"[1949].

  • but was only around 100 years before that song was even thought of.....

  • Lulz.

  • I still have mine!

  • I WANT ONE~!~!~!~!

  • I had one. Got it as a christmas present when I was a kid. I asked santa for it. I loved it.

  • @TitanicMatthew Cool commercial but it could never be aired today due to PC concerns!

  • @philo426 Yeah, I still want one though LOL

  • @philo426 yep
