thanks for the lesson. I'm a complete beginner in violin I'm not used to it. (I self-study) hey, how do you avoid the screeching noises (whatever you call it) while playing the violin? my hand is used to the piano so i think my hand has a lot of weight while holding the bow that makes the screeching noises.
Chevyman, i think it depends on the bow. Some bows are naturally tight, but it looks like too loose. But yeah for normal bows, i think it should be tightened up a little.
I have been going through the string crossing series this evening and when I hit pt4 my girlfriend told me that I sound "100% better". Nicely done. Thanks. Larry
is there any exercise i can make for playing tied notes... its hard for me to cross the string from a-string to d-string cause i always here a squeek T_T... by the way thanks for the information..
can the bridge also have an effect on crossing strings.... what i mean is if the bridge is not properly curve???... when im looking at my bridge and imagining it to be cut in the middle into side A and B... it looks like the the curve of side A is not proportionate with side B... is that fine???
Hi dicerald, Yes, that is normal. The G side is supposed to be a little higher than the E side. The space between the strings should all be the same though. TE
thank you for your videos. i have been watching a lot and i learned how to do vibrato from you! I currently do not have a teacher and have been trying to teach myself. So thank you for these lessons and keep up with the good work!! bye
Start by placing your bow right in the middle, on the A string. Space it right between the E and the D. Now bow three inches and stop. Did it move closer to the E or D or did it stay right between the two? Go back to the middle and bow 4 inches with the same intention. Then try the middle 3rd of the bow. Can you stay right between the D and E? If so, do the same exercize with your eyes closed! Good luck.
cool!

I use to touch the next string to that one I'm playing, and I can't help it. I'm not sure if it's because of my wrist or my arm.
Can you give me some advice to avoid that?
