The Zeitgiest people are wrong and they know it and even admit the lack of evidence but that won't stop them from pushing their video, the book, or other series of videos that they are producing. The only goal of the zeitgeist video reagardless of how ludicrous the claims are meant to pull people into the new age by getting them to reject Christianity. Props must go out to the excellent refutation done here but even so, if they can pull 100 people into the new age then their video was a success.

Existence on Jesus isn't really proven, but it is well accounted for. This however doesn't mean he existed.

What really speaks most on behalf of his existence, is that there's absolutely no reason to doubt it, exept reasons of attitude (and that's never a good reason).

Creating a historical figure out of a legend, wasn't something that was known to be effective. success christianity was first evidence of the power of a historical person, as a legend or object of worship.

I don't have the full list but these are several others off the top of my head from memory: Sarapion, Celcus, Lucian, the Talmud, and I think a few of the earlier Gnostic Gospels.
