  • Man, talk about a 2-side hit.

  • I wish i had a needle for my record player.

  • How come the matrix number, at the bottom of the label, is printed ¿uʍop ǝpısdn

  • @sha1om So it is!. Sure someone out there will know. And how did you type upside down? Love to know

  • @78s4FR ¿˙˙˙pɐǝɥ ʎɯ uo pooʇs ı 'ɯn

Seriously, there are two ways to do it. The hard way involves opening Character Map on your computer, picking a Unicode font, and looking through it for characters resembling the upside down versions of the letters you want; The eay way is to find one of several websites that do it for you automatically. I think the one I used is fliptext dot 0rg.

  • @sha1om Thanks for that - found it!

  • Cool! Thanks for posting

  • Good 'ol rockabilly!!!!!!

    Tks for putting this up!

    record sounds good too.

  • whats on the other side

  • read the info!

  • TH beatles recorded this in 1964; apparently Carl PERKINS WAS AT THE SESSION .i HAVE A SNEAKING SUSPICION HEPLAYED ON THE FINISHED TRACK AS WELL AS THE GUITAR SOLO SOUNDS ALMOST IDENTICAL AS THIS ONE!!

  • A real classic!

  • just got the sun version. $23 , crackles like hell. love this 78rpm better. ( but thats only my opinion). great track. top rated.

  • I just love Carl Perkins' singing, guitar playing and song writing. He was a genious!

  • man , you aint lived till you herd this,

  • just sooooooooo good on 78rpm. great post.

  • Carl Perkins rocks!!!!

  • Were the UK versions on a different label than Sun?

  • Oh yes. I think I'm right in saying that the UK label London, owned by Decca, was set up to release US artists over here, who's labels didn't sell anywhere other than the States. Like Sun, Dot etc.

Most London release show the original US company's name on the left side of the label

  • The Beatles covered this song, and Ringo sang it. It can be found on the U.K. "Beatles For Sale" and the U.S. "Beatles 65".

  • Excellent, takes me right back to my youth, Drainpipes,D.A. Brothel creepers, and girlfriends who deserved, and got respect (well 95% of 'em, afraid it's the other way round nowadays).

78s4FR who is in the photo you use, she is remarkably like my first girlfriend (Yeah, dream on grandad) Anyway, super records you play they keep me R&Rolling, many thanks, traa.

  • Thank you for posting this in its original form

  • Hi! Liz, "Needless" (sorry) to say that I just love not only your "turntable", (Is that the way you say in good old english, right?) but also your 78rpm great rock and roll records! Keep 'em spinning for the sake of rock, and U2B community! (maybe you want to check out a video that I posted the other day): Elvis sings Blue Suede Shoes at 78...) It is not as good as yours, but...Love 4 ever! ET music fan from a very far land.

  • Hi ET, Yes 'turntable' is right....or 'deck' as they now say.

    Loved the Elvis clip.

I actually have 17 Elvis 78's (all the RCA ones except Mystery Train), but I fear U2B will delete them. Glad you like my '58 Decca-gram

  • A badass song. Holds the test of time extremely well.

Many thanks for posting this in its original format.
