this game is cool and all, but its scale is kinda smaller then some other rts coming out. Even the action rts Kingdom under fire 2 looks way more epic in scale then Starcraft, but i think it is cool becuase it is so balanced, mlg material.

yeah but Blizzard made the races in SC very different and still kept the balance so tight :P

And another thing is, how come it made so successfullness in S Korea so it became a national sport?

I lived in Korea around the time when Starcraft first published and one of the main reasons for its success in s. korea is that SC and affordable internet services in S. Korea were introduced almost at the same time. So SC was one of the first games they played online and commercials saw the potential of the progamers as marketing.

it's a PC game where youc ontrol an army (not quite sure how you call that) like in warcraft or Dawn of War. it takes place in the future, there are 3 races: the terrans (humans), the Protoss (aliens with very high technology) and Zerg (aliens with low technology, they actualy look a little like the aliens from the movie...)

the first game is pretty old but realy good.

Actually, Starcraft is a PC RTS game. Starcraft is known for being the most balanced game of it's type at it's age. It contains three race's, Protoss (High tech Aliens), Zerg (Insect like Aliens), and Terran (future Humans). walatalalaw is wrong on one thing, Starcraft is not like Warcraft, Starcraft came out first so Warcraft is like Starcraft ^o^

You're only wrong on 1 thing. Warcraft is older than Starcraft. But SC is the best Strategy there is atm. And Blizz willing SC2 will be too. It's kinda weird that supersonicfan123 doesn't know about it. It's 10yrs old and ppl still play it like it was just released.

RTS - Real Time Strategy. If you haven't played it, try it. The graphics are old but still sweet and the gameplay is out of this world. You'll love the story it unfolds. Btw, awesome cinematic.

SC is good BECAUSE the races are completely different, yet Blizzard managed to balance them competitively.

dude if all the troops r the same just different looking buildings in age of empires then wouldnt it get boring after a while the ppl who made age of empires r ppl who r lazy and cant make different units but have the same balance the ppl who made age of empires sound like cheap blizzard knock-offs

Actually, strategy games back then just didn't have very different factions. Warcraft 1 & 2 did the same thing.
