ok so i can play with both my hands when they are playing the same thing but when i try to play something seperate on each hand i can't really do it. i have trouble getting my hands to do what they are supposed to do :/ how can i fix that?

@404jipjip You have to start somewhere...... you must walk before you can run.When you're finished with this exercise you can move onto further training.

I've been following your lessons on YouTube and on your website. I was wondering what would happen after I completed the first 10 lessons. From the comments here, it looks like the next lessons will only be available on a DVD and not on YouTube or your website. This comes as a bit of a disappointment. I realise you have every right to charge for your expertise - and your lessons are very good. But maybe it should be made clear straightaway - you are only offering 10 taster lessons for free.

If youve gotten value out of what I offer for free... then Im glad I was able to help you get started on the piano. But remember one thing... ultimately YOU are responsible for your piano education.not me.

So I dont believe I owe you an explanation when youre simply watching what I do for free. There are hundreds of other YouTube videos that will teach you various aspects of playing the piano. But if you want to get *all* of what I do... I reserve that material for my DVD.

That is my choice.

Thanks...... the technical part (encoding/authoring) is being finished this week. Then it will be another week and a half after that before its ready for sale. Both NTSC and PAL will be ready at the same time.

I'm surprised you are not more famous--your videos are incredibly easy to follow and wonderfully taught. I just picked up my keyboard awhile ago, and I so badly want to learn but cannot afford the expensive lessons. Incidentally, I have ADHD, so it is not very easy for me to focus on long, repetitive, technical and boring things.. luckily you have made all of your videos very interactive! I am excited for your other lessons to become available. :) Please continue the excellent work! :)

My current DVD will be out very soon and it will have exclusive lessons not seen online as well as 3 real piano songs to play.

All 50 lessons on dvd will take alot more time..... but it will happen in the future.

Why get bogged down in all these pointless and confusing numbers when all you actually need to do is think of going down a finger or up a finger? This turns something infinitely simple into something complex.

Wow... If I confused you by only counting from 1 to 5 and then from 5 to 1 then I apologize.... but almost 3000 of my subscribers have told me they experience no complexities at all.

Counting from 1 to 5 is easy. However (speaking as someone who has played for years and has no problems with finger numbers) I find the numbers at 36:00 needlessly complex- compared to simply thinking from note to note. It's easy to feel from a finger to an adjacent finger and it's easy to start associating that with written notes, as they go up (to the right) or down (to the left). Leave the written process aside and it will only seem vastly more daunting when it arrives for the first time.

If a person is ready to be aware of the difference between the 'positions', they are certainly ready to start thinking about what notes they are playing. If someone can visually identify the different notes, why assume that they are so stupid as to be unable to grasp the idea that going up a note equates to going a letter along the alphabet? Is that too hard?By leaving these things out, it only serves to make life difficult when it's no longer possible to get by without such simple fundamentals.

You've got some good ideas and I think you should incorporate some of your ideas as video lessons on your channel.

*However the purpose of *my* YouTube channel is to reach out to those individuals who tried to learn piano by conventional means and had a "less than pleasurable experience" (as I did) and offer a much simpler way to get some basic knowledge on how to play tunes on the piano.

why not use C D E F G A B C, there are no numbers in music notes...

music notation requires memorization...... that's not what my course is about........ and yes there *are* numbers that are typically implemented while sight-reading a piece of music notation..... these are the numbers of each finger (1 2 3 4 5).
