@mdssdp If I recall correctly, Kassi typically recommends around 30lbs for actual horseback archery. I have one of his bow in 60lbs and it is great for shooting from foot but would be difficult on horseback (at least for a novice like me).
Nagyon szep video, remelem egyre tobb magyar ter vissza a hagyomanyainkhoz, hiszen nekunk magyaroknak igazan nincs mit szegyelnunk, inkabb buszkenek kell lenni hagyomanyainkra es hovatartozasunkra! Ilyen nagymultu es szines dicso multal nem sok nemzet rendelkezik es mi magyarok nem szukolkodunk benne. Legy buszke dicso nemzet mint egykor voltunk!!!
this is so cool! i'd want to learn how to use an arch while horseback riding. i already know to ride a horse, so basically i dont have to work too much to learn, right?
Amazing skill from a man who couldnt even ride when he begun I would like to know 1what draw is the bow 2 can its arrow defeat roman scutum 3 will its arrow pierce roman laurica segmentata (back and breast armour) we know from history Hunnish horse bowmen could kill armoured roman legionaries
Don't forget that the roman legions weren't exactly at their most disciplined, or even particularly well equipped when the huns were doing their thing. The barbarisation of the legions really cut down their quality.
Nope. The persians were badly equipped, and for the most part half-assedly trained. Their army was based on conscript levies. Human wave attacks were how they operated. But yeah, the Scythians did have a pretty good run. What ended up happening to them?
this is beyond your normal skill, take it from someone who rides horses a lot, this isnt just skill with a bow, the level of horsemanship required in this is beyond. notice the gear they use for riding, its bareback riding that is so hard to keep balance and then to shoot arrows on top of that at a horse gallop. amazing
not to mention the fact that you have to completely trust that horse since you have no reins in hand to control the horse...that's hard sometimes even at a canter, much less a gallop..scary...i used to do eventing ps...these guys know what they are doing...
@zlipzonk Do they have stirrups on the horses? It's hard to see. There is definitely no saddle though. Truly a great skill to ride a horse this way, and combining archery at the right moment during the horse's gallop to ensure an accurate shot. I'm amazed every time I watch this. It should be an Olympic sport hehe
Nagyon szeretem nézni, illetve "a földön" én is íjászkodtam még kölyökkoromban, családom birtokában két visszacsapó íj is található. Nővérem egy éve tagja egy hagyományőrző lovasíjász egyesületnek. Kassairól viszont egyre rosszabb a véleményem...
i love archery nd even use one of kassais bows. The man is such a brilliant and noble reminder of the beauty of horse archery and the skill of the magyars. Only thing i wanna knw is how can u practise horse archery when u dnt hav a horse yet, like what can u do to prepare urself for horse archery before u get ur horse coz we renting out a place now nd will be getting some large land soon etc... peace
@kror23 I saw a special on Yabusame where a man practiced by shooting while standing on one foot on a rope tied between trees so he could get better balance. Maybe that would help?

At about .035, did I see 'Tomas' punch his horse in the neck? If I did then that is a pretty shitty thing to do!

Archery takes a lot of time to learn. Like any shooting. Lots of hours of practise. Then COMBINING the two arts is even more time.

@harlequin2262 Was that the excuse of the Persians when they couldn't defeat the Scythians too?
