@nycwiseguy91 you can get a good one for around US$ 80-100k+ It's the parts need for maintenance that may kill you as Bell has stopped all production of B47 parts a few years ago. Though I have heard that they sold all the forms and plans to a company in the US that will continue to make the parts. They may be slow but they are incredibly fun to fly (and the great tan you get is a bonus :P) I did my commercial training in one and I had a hoot.
They are much more suited to light ground-attack and land support,as well as insertion/extraction and transport/scout roles.Medical Evacuation as well.
@toddm160th. Your profile shows you to be a wannabe teenager. Why don't you quit pretending to be an American hero and earn the title yourself, if you've got the balls.
yahh im a teenager, but my dad uses this account as well (he's into bashing liberals) so.... the comment from 7 months was him... so if that clears it up we can be friends now =0
when i managed 23 air medals, 2 bronze stars (one with a V), a silver star and a DFC during vietnam, it was number one. you can go fuck yourself and your idealistic views.
that how you talk to vietnam vets? all right, look my unit up. 1/9 cavalry division, scouts, call sign was either colt peacemaker or apache white, depending on the region, i served from 67-68 and flew in this helicopter from saigon to when we relieved the marines at khe sahn. what are you, 15? 16? tell me if youve even heard of the cav.
I flew scouts with B/1/9 1 Cav Div 1966-67. My call sign was White 15. The OH-13S served us fairly well, considering it's age at the time and the fact it could be held together with duct tape and a prayer.
thats kind of like what my grandfather says (hes a WW2 European campagin veteran) he flew the P-51D and he told me that when he was flying over Berlin he kept thinking "the only thing holding this thing together is spit and prayers...... and im out of spit"
That's an illusion caused by the difference in the camera shutter speed and the rotaion speed of the blades. You will see this many times in movies; wheels looking like they are rotating backwards.
On the internet, helicopters don't go cho- chop-chop. They go soi-soi-soi

the chopper looks great but its survivability is low because its protection is too thin but it is a great medevac chopper
dimitboris 1 year ago
@dimitboris hey back then it was the best they had to offer there were no rocket pods and strong enough engines to life choppers with heavier armor.
AlexNOSAM 1 year ago
@AlexNOSAM but i also admire that choppers ability to save american soldiers lives comrade that bird did have a good role in korea

The pilot´s had to have iron balls to fly on that thing over hostile territory.
Search for hero in the dictionary and you´ll get a photo of these guys.
