  • are vespids worth taking i have heard that they are bad because of the cost and the bs, but the bs can be fixed with marker lights so is this viable?

  • im looking at the stats for the plasma rifle it dosent say it negates cover saves where is that rule at ?

  • @ironhidewulf

No, its the missle pod that negates cover

  • Thanks for the tips!

  • just fyi heat lance is str6 ap1 lance melta

but still a great tactic to think about

  • So far, I haven't gone up against a legit Tau army.

  • My tau tactics, Shoot 'em before they assault you.

  • @Hound419 When they do hit you, what then?

  • @wikieditspam Then he loses...horribly. I went up against a Tau army with my Death Guard army. In his shooting he killed all but one of my terminators. That one terminator made it into combat and killed 13 fire warriors before he finally died. By then the rest of my army closed in and it was a slaughterfest. Same thing with my Eldar when I played Tau. 3 banshees were all it took to murder his men. And that was BEFORE my Swooping Hawks returned from using Skyleap for the 2nd time that game.

  • @Arkaeya I think you might have made my night. I have a whole bunch of terminators that I got from space hulk, haven't gotten around to basing and painting (I'm on the wrong continent from them right now), but that reinforced my plan for them in my list.

  • two tau questions that i've been kinda confused on.

    1) why is it better to take 2 suits instead of three in a unit?

    2) not completely sure about this, but in a 1500 game, can you take 2 HQs? Ansd would it be better to take 2 HQ Suits with bodyguards and three units of suits as elites?

  • Rock on brother

  • Negates Feel no pain? don't know what codex your looking at Josh, but I'd prefer that one to my regular codex :p

Fusion blasters yes because there Str 8 vs the usual SM Toughness 4, Plasmas Str 6, it will do nothing against Feel no Pain.

  • @Llevarion AP 2 negates Feel no pain as well.

  • @Llevarion hes right, ap2 means no fnp!

  • great vid thanks Josh. Dunk

  • HOLY CRAP! Yore still around, haven't seen you around in a while...

  • it looks as if he has lost a bit of weight, since last year.

  • me i like tau on the dawn of wazr and thats all me if get a tau army i need to win it and yes i have have just like dawn of war like that army list the one thing wich color skeem do i do ?? and fore me in dawn of war the tau tanks go so slow why dont know addlest eldare get thare and jump over things not tau take thare own seet time this just ME

  • all good advice but I prefer twinlinked suits

  • those are target locks, not multi trackers

  • A full sniper drone team also lay waist to space marines, unfortunately they're kinda costly (if I remember correctly) and they really can't move.

  • a "space marine heavy environment"

can be used to accurately describe any 40k group in any area around the globe :)

  • Well if the team leader is the last one and has a bonding knife he can attempt to rally if he is the last of 3.

  • You can't wound allocate that way if the team leader is armed same or different from the other suit and you only have two you have to go one on each you don't get to dump insta kills on one model in a unit if there are enough to spread out. Now if you had 2 strength 8 and 2 str 4 then yes you could.

  • It doesn't appear as though you washed your hair this week.

  • can i just say Tau are meant to be good at shooting but they have the same BS as an Ork grot WTF GW

  • @babypooon They are not meant to be good at shooting at all. They simply have good guns. In fact, their eyesight is worse than a human's.

  • @babypooon wierd how a grot's BS is higher than a warboss aswell? and they have the worst guns in the entire game i think. ive played many games and managed to kill about 2 gaunts with 10. really i just use them to hold back the enemy and let the waaagh do its buisness

  • @MrKoiking1 lol

  • Do a imperial guard tactics for a 600pt game to 1000pt game ty

  • nice tactic, but isnt that pricy as hell? I mean, 2 hammerheads in 1500 pts. that is like at least 300 pts? and than the suit teams. 2 times (25+20+12+10) + 5 for the team leder. this comes to 139 * 3 . this is another 400 points or so. I think that if you use this against marines, you can use sniper teams too. they are ap3, long range and nice hitting with the markerlight. and cheaper.

  • @Javaka2 The problem is with sniper drones is they are far to static and they have little to no anti tank abilitys. The advantage with with the suits is if SM decide to take terminator you also have an answer for that. It's pricy to go this way, but these 5 units (suits and tanks) can easily earn their points back in smaller point games. Especially with both of them being able to hurt tanks and infintry depending on your need. That and being mobile is a huge advantage in 5th.

  • again...Yay for Josh!

  • what about a unit of 3 broadsides on the other side of the map providing accurate support for the infantry while taking up the last HS slot?

  • @Ichigo9913 3 broadsides take up too many points for lower points levels. Plus, when all of the enemy tanks are gone, broadsides value go way down. Point for point the Hammerhead is better because it can do everything the broadsides can plus be able to reposition if needed, provide moving cover and can only be harmed by high str. guns. Besides, with the str 7 missiles from the suits, you only need 2 railguns anyway.

  • @rustbucket34373 "overkill is underrated" is usually the way i'll play if the points are avalable, plus with tau its a bit better to have more long range units is it not? 3 twin linked strength 10 shots every turn wreaking havoc on characters every turn is quite useful, especially when combined with the hammerhead's shots. once the heavy units are gone you can just start picking off the more useful infantry and lower. just my own way of playing, but your advice is helpful. any tips 4 broadsides?

  • @Ichigo9913 Stick them in the back part of your deployment, make sure they have clear lanes to shoot and if worse comes to worse, charge anything that doesnt' have a power weaopn in the unit.

  • we need more of this guy !

  • Thanks for the tips Josh, big fan of all your batreps and tactics. Just had a quick question, when you have the 2 xv8's behind the HH wouldn't they just get a cover save of 4+ or does the skimmer block LOS. Keep up the good work.

  • @Tauownz The HH will block LOS to the suits for almost everthing in front of it. Just make sure the suits are in single file behind the HH. It gets harder to pull off in bigger games with units of 3. Best way to perfect using this is just to set up a HH, put the suits behind and place infintry and tanks on the front side of the HH and see where the enemy units will start to see your suits. Remember to see a unit you have to see the torso, arms, head or legs. Bases and weapons don't count.

  • BlueTablePainting Forums. General game discussion. List building. Modeling ideas. Amazing idea? Discuss.

  • @TheBustinchops I think that that would only further distract them. More time on the forums = less time on other things. And can you name 1 thing that the BTP group do that you DON'T want them to do more of?

  • Nice tips.

  • Tau is such a boring army to play as. Either you play a Gunline or Mech army and try to shoot all the 3+ armies until you get facerolled in close combat.

  • Josh knows his stuff! Great work!

  • Hey well done, have you someone with tactics for Imperial Guard?

  • this is to the person that dislikes every video BTP makes...your not funny, your not cool, your a moron and a loser...that is all.

  • Thank you Josh very good

  • I used to borrow my dad's Tau army once in awhile. 3 teams of 3 in 1,500 pt. games. Nasty list.

  • I agree on the 2 crysis he also forgot to mention they are much easier to hide behind stuff. Pushing your list to 2000 you definitly want those extra shots from the third crysis. Kootos on the great advice.

  • lol sweating after moving 6 models

  • @Potato69 lol, trolling an hour after the video is posted. New record for you I belive.

  • It's been a while but aren't the smart missiles on the Hammerhead s5? I thought if you did a submunition shot, you wouldn't be able to shoot anything else over s4 which made them irrelevant.

  • There is that iconic smile again (0:10)

  • w00t josh do this more:)

  • love it not many people do tau tactics thank you! and josh your awesome!
