The thing you pay a little more for Alienware is the NON proprietary hardware. If you wanna upgrade something, you can. Unlike a lot of Macs and other PC brands that use proprietary hardware so you have to send it to them to be repaired (higher prices). All in all, Alienware is still cheaper (spec wise) than competing Macs.
