i know man. croom wasn't the reason for what happened that year. It was Ellis Johnson and some luck. That Defense was basically our offense that year and did everything. And we had a few key (lucky) plays that made the season.
Croom is the example of how hard it really is to bring dicipline to an already f^c^ed up football team. Getting Mississippi State in competition again is going to be tough job for whoever they find. Ole Miss can celebrate for now but i know some of the players are still having dreams about last season when they SUCKE(BAD). Ole miss is only good when they have a Manning as quaterback. I have nothing against Ole Miss, but they shouldn't pop bottles to soon they still have a bowl to play.

Tis better to have won one than not to have won anything at all. State's hasn't won a conference title since the Korean War and never has won a national title.
Ole Miss has 31 bowl appearances, including 8 in the Sugar. We're also in the top 35 in all-time wins while State can be found somewhere in the 80s.

Yeah, relative to the current seasons within the last few decades, MSU is better in "the big 3". If anything the Cotton Bowl voctory shows just how dumb and shady ole miss' administration is.
