I have owned denon 3500/5000/3700.... they are good for mixing but they aint good for scratching and cuttin im not a fan boy but The Wheels Of Steel Are unbeatable
i still have a pair of s3500 but i keep them on the loft
@CharIiePresents look the DN-S700, they have some of that features, the dn-s1200 is nearly the same that the 3700 but in a small format, also great audio quality like anything from Denon
i wish the Screen on the 3700s was more like the 5500s though. I like the ability to be able to see many of my tunes in a list as im scrolling through them so i can decide which tune to drop next!
BPMgear is spot on. Denon goes all the way back to the turn of the nineteenth to twentith century. They are about 125 years old. They created audiophilia gear for radio stations for decades and were one of the first if not the first to create and mass produce the compact disc player. Pioneer is good, but Denon has had a number of audiophilia first. When I am ready to spin and play cdjs, I am definitely going with Denon. Although clubs prefer Pioneer, I am partial to Denon.
@lilmanbhp... It cost's $2370 for a complete package which include's 2x denon dn-s 3700 and a denon mixer.. Lol dont know how much your house's are were you live but in australia thats not as much as it would cost to buy a house lmao
well one thing denon has that pioneer doesnt is, denon more affordable but to be honest, i think the pioneer decks r much more organized and less cluttered. but i had cdj800's now getting the kontrol s4 and a midi fighter so its either these or the 900 to work with traktor... but lol these i can get off ebay for liek 1200$ a PAIR of them. the 900's r gonna run me like 1800 lol soo im thinking im gonna go with these. its somthin different too :P its all personal preference tho guys so chil :P
@Rawwwrrrgasmified buy affordable gear like numark axis9s to get started they have all the pro features and scratch mode easy to beat match and very cheap.
am a strate up scratch aholic lovin the 9" platter :) wish i could afford am broke been djing for 8 years and there nice and basic look hot and prob last a long time so looking faward to getting them. for new djs always look for how long it lasts before they break because its more important. forget what decks are best look for decks u can relie on and last over 3 years look for decks u like and ask geeves for reviews on them before purches.
wateva dude only a dj tht has the balls to play out uses cdjs an all th rest bitch about em an buy these decks wiv useless feature upon feature on em so stick to your bedroom m8
@DuDe1040 yeah sure...dude i have 16 years i hit local clubs my mom give me money for food school etc..and all money off dj-ing goes to me and i can afford them pretty easy...only unskilled dj use cdj
love everything about this guy excet the silver in the center, ugly ugly piece makes the whole thing look plastic ish , but really the rest of the player is nice and solid. just hate the center piece
The reason I just purchased these instead of Pioneer is the fact that it has the rotating platter. Same reason I bought the Technics CDJ`s when they came out.
Why does Pioneer insist on staying way from that feature is beyond me.
DENON, you guys nailed this one, great job on thinking of EVERY DJ`s needs!
I was wondering if the DN-3700 has fixed the scratch issue. Do you still have to put the CD player on pause mode to scratch. An exact example that I ma referring to comes from DJMag's review of the 3700. At 2:05, the review explains how you have to use the S-1200 settings in Traktor Scratch as the sound card set up. I quess the question is two fold. Is there a 3700 specific setting in TS Pro and if not is there a work around that allows me to touch the platter and scratch at anytime?
I started DJing in the mid 90's and all the clubs were using DN 2000 mk1. Industry standard is a joke. It's a gimick... The term "standard" is a set of guidelines for which is a minimum requirement for judgement.
A few of you sound like newbies asking about Denon pedigree in the DJ game, Denon was the industry standard for CD players way before pioneer started giving away its CDJs to all these famous DJs. Just because Denon does not give away its badass gear for free publicity does not mean it makes bad products. I would say that Pioneers "new species" (What a Joke!) CDJ 2000 stole all its features off Denon, all of pioneers "Innovating" features had already been found years ahead on Denons CD Decks.
@BPMgear You're dead on about the features, Pioneer has always been slightly behind the game in terms of feature availability on its players, but the reason Pioneer has become the industry standard in spite of this is due to their number one feature: Incredbile quality and reliability. That's why the command such a high price. Their players and mixers are designed and built to withstand the test of time, and endless amounts of abuse.

@BPMgear I have been a DENON dj for a while now, and I think they are superior than the pioneers, and I cant stand proprietary software to "manage" my music.....I'm a fucking DJ, I "manage" my own music...
ya feel me? but yeah did u know the cdj1000 won't even play MP3's????? MUSIC BOX sucks as bad as Itunes also....
@BPMgear you sound like the CD equivalent of a turntable purist who thinks the world still lives on vinyl. Ye denon was number 1 back in the day but things change and move on. @BPMgear Fair point,Denon having been making Audiophile hifi equipment for yonks and have, the same as Pioneer, turned there hand to DJ equipment, they have just as much standing and there is no reason why the gear will be any less if not better or worse than Pioneers. However Denon and Pioneer are some of the best producers of dj gear PERIOD!
nothing beats the ease of use and sexyness of the DNS 3700, CDJ feels like going back to the stoneage.
