  • I can take gore, and a lot of other things, but if I was asleep and this happened close by me, I'd be really messed up for some time

  • Hi, I am a Iraqi Turkmen from the city of Kirkuk, I remember this very well, if any of your americans can look just past the highway beside your base, you should seen a pinkish red house, that is mine.

  • Yep. I was here fer this one. This was my first indirect fire attack. This was my 3rd day into my first Iraq tour. What a fun night. hahaha

  • Americans really love war, what a sick people u are

  • No we love watching shit blow up. We dont love war. Atleast I dont. Death is never fun.

  • Dude, I was there, too! I was deployed with C co 225 FSB, and I was hanging with the FST at their bunker. It was like 4th of July a month early!

  • That's funny I was standing next to this guy by Mod 8 and I also shot video, however AF public affairs put out a statement saying this was not to be released. Funny.

  • who cares what the PAO says?

  • Me too bro, I was just outside Mod 8 when this shit kicked off (I lived in Mod 8 and have pics of where my roof caved in). June 2nd '04 right? I was on the Tac 4 and later "A"venger flight.

  • damn i'm glad i wasn't there when this happened, but i was at FOB Warrior about a yr later. we had a couple of attacks at LSA Anaconda but nothing like this one. i gotta give you guys mad props for going through that shit. hell i can remember we got mortared 27 times in arrow at anaconda while we were there, but like i said ..NOTHING like this.

  • I was in Kirkuk from June to December 2003. Though I did not witness this particular attack, there were many others of shorter duration that did kill people. One night a mortar flew right over our heads into Kirkuk itself killing about 30 people that night. The next day, Apaches were rocketing the village just to the North of Kirkuk AB for about 20 minutes.

  • hey! my dad was in this! he was with! he was a 1st sg

  • Why don't explosions sound like this in Hollywood movies? This is the most awe-inspiring set of fireworks I've ever seen.

  • this scared the shit out of me..i was in the mods trying to sleep. nobody knew what was going on, I thought it was an all out attack, no one told me about an hour after it stopped, it was a fire at the bomb dump

  • I'm just another guy saying I was there when this happened. Except I have footage from another angle. If you look on the video you can see a warehouse in the distance. Well that's where we were at. Lets just say the shockwave from that blast was pretty damn stong. The blast wave knocked me and my friends down. Everyone seems to have the time it happened down right, it was around mid to late June. I went on leave not to long after this happened. It was the best damn fireworks show I've ever seen!

  • what a crappy night...I remember we were in the CHU's right across from where the fire started...we were up on the radar mound taking pics of the fire when shit started exploding. and to the guy that said this was in MAY..you are wrong. It was June. To the guy that asked what FOB this was at, it was at FOB Warrior in Kirkuk, Iraq...

  • Here are the facts of this attack it occured at approx. 9:10pm on June 2, 2004 at Kirkuk Air Base, Iraq. The videographer is Ssgt. Caldwell, 506th Security Forces, it was caused by 2 105mm rockets that flew in and started the grass fire that scorched half the base. There were ankles injuries, but also at least 3 people were sent back stateside for mental issues related to this

  • okay.. too many peple here sayin they "ran" this ammo dump... im with 225 FSB, 25th ID... only 4 89B ammodawgs ran this and noone from any infantry unit was there.... they are correct in sayin it started from a grass fire... from a mortor or rpg round... there were only 2 people in that bomb dump.. SSG Waite and myself, SSG Boysel... it was all captured enemy ammo that was sitting outside. Thanx the Air Force Full Birds for not allowing controlled burns...

  • I was an AF Firefighter there when this happened. I happend pretty late in the evening. We heard the rocket come in and sent trucks out to put out the grass fire it started. Well we pulled lines and then relized that we weren't gonna be able to put it out before it got to the pad. Disconnected the lines and got the fuck outa there. Within 5 the first few munitions started goin off. Shit was flying everywhere. Well surprisingly no one died.

  • THIS GUYS ARE COOL

  • Combat Veteren. 1st ID Feb 04 feb 05. I've read this took place in 04 but where. What fob. Was this in Kirkuk or at Baghdad international. What unit took this video and who is that funny ass dude that said. dude we gotta get the fuck outta here. Gotta love you ammo going up in smoke.

  • Sir,

This took place May 04, it started with a single mortar attack which started a grass fire and spread.

  • I was there...working for KBR...that was one f**ked up night!

  • Amazing footage

  • It's funny how many people said they were there the sameway but took it higher each time... I ran this bomb dump from nov 03- mar 04, a grass fire started by a mortar or rocket fired into base made its way to captured munitions stored outside... I remember this in May-June 2004. I was there with 2 BCT, 25th ID from February 2004-2005. i was their aswell..1/21 inf HHC AT PLATOON

    thank god i was on a 4 day R N R pass.

    RNR PASS? HAHAHAHAH!

  • how come no one was selling toffee apples and jacket potatoes? and where are your sparklers people?

  • I love this video. The first time I saw it was on the Q drive in Kirkuk. Exactly how long does it take to go into Alarm Red?

  • Nothing happened, they keep the munitions that far away from the centre of the base for a reason you know.

  • I ran this bomb dump from nov 03- mar 04, a grass fire started by a mortar or rocket fired into base made its way to captured munitions stored outside, everything from small arms, missiles, artillary shells, flares and up to 2000lb bombs cooked off. We emptied the indoor storage bunkers of all Iraqi munitions to make room for our stuff.

  • Nobody got any sleep that night...

  • this is a awesome video!

  • Funny in the first one when they didn't react before the sound came xD

  • Are they being attacked or are they just destroying ammo?

  • Attacked. I was there. They don't destoy ammo like that on a base. Our rooms were ony a few hundred meters away.

  • I was in TQ in late 04 and we had the same thing happen, but not nearly as severe.

  • i was their aswell..1/21 inf HHC AT PLATOON

    thank god i was on a 4 day R N R pass.

  • r we doing that 2 them or r they doin it to us

  • damn this is an awesome video man thanks for uploading

  • mad shit

  • Is this one of our ammo dumps or one of the derkas?

  • I remember this in May-June 2004. I was there with 2 BCT, 25th ID from February 2004-2005. I always wanted to get a copy of the video but did not know who the Airman was that made the video.

  • when this happen anyway? I was in Kirkuk from apr03-feb04 with the 173rd

  • wow that is crazy!

  • Yep it was pretty insane.

  • Was any of our troops injured? I sure hope not.

  • No not in this attack.

  • Outstanding! I hope the counter radar batteries were used to neutralize them. Semper Fi!

  • 2 sprained anckles were the only injurys
