  • mister....... YOUR AWESOME

  • N64 beat the PS1 to hell. No matter if PS1 sold more, it's no comparison for Nintendo's groundbreaking 64 bit machine with amazing four player action, better controller that brought us new things, and better graphics(depending on the games). :)

  • I own the green one!

  • PS1 is way better than that lawn ornament.

  • awww man...lol i remember these i had the green one...but i was a kid back then so i sold it not thinking about how much i would miss it....i have a new N64 that i bought about 2 yrs ago but its just a regular N64...i want another colored version...that orange one loox really cool

  • Comment removed

  • The N64 looks cooler than The gamecube.

  • I always played with my hands on the two side handles.. I honestly thought that was how it was meant to be.. and some how I was fine. o_o; My hands aren't huge or anything and I was a kid... so.. yeah...

  • Nintendo 64 was good but only 300 games...

  • i can't find any joysticks anymore..is it still available in the market? i have so many games but can;t use them coz no joysticks..

  • @Luigifan191 mine is grey :(

  • @tribrickproductions1 Here's an idea, stop trolling. And why so hostile? Are you so upset over a little console vs console debate?

  • @tribrickproductions1 Thanks for agreeing with me. Xman019 goes to every video he can and will say PS1 is better than N64 over and over again.

  • I didn't know N64's came in transparent colors. Mine was black. :(

  • I want Microsoft to make and Xbox portable called "Xportable" :)

  • Saw a stack of japanese N64s at a surplus shop. They are colored teal/gray.

  • I want my Wii in Orange Transparent ORANGE

  • thumbs up for a translucent orange xbox 360

  • The N64 had polygon renderer and was better than most computers of The 90's...

  • The N64 is all right, but the PS1 is better. Sony gained the 3rd party support Nintendo lost.

  • @xman019 false!!!

  • @Supergamerofchaos It's a fact. The PlayStation had better third party support. More games. And it's better.

  • @xman019 no, just absolutely no. PS1 is great, but N64 is excellent. It has much more better games such as super mario 64, ocarina of time, starfox 64, pokemon snap, super smash bros, kirby 64, paper mario, goldeneye 007, mariokart 64, yoshis story, south park the game, mario party 1,2,& 3, donkey kong 64, wave race 64, pilotwings 64, and so much more. Lets sadly face the facts, PS1 is a great, but N64 has so much more better games(1st party or 3rd), thats its more awsome.

  • @Supergamerofchaos PS1 has better games. It sold more games, more consoles, and has better technical features. Nintendo's biggest mistakes was sticking with cartridges and losing the 3rd party support. Look at those games you listed. They're only from Nintendo. The truth is PS1 > N64. The PS1 won. You can't change history.

  • @Supergamerofchaos One of the only games you mentioned not made by Nintendo, was Goldeneye 007. 3rd party games are better on PS1. PS1 Resident Evil 2 > N64 Resident Evil 2. PS1 Mortal Kombat Trilogy > N64 Mortal Kombat Trilogy. N64 didn't even get RE1 or RE3. And that is the very point I'm making. PS1 has excellent 1st part games too, like "The Legend of Dragoon".

  • @xman019 I still really son't care, Nintendo has always been better than Sony. 5 reasons why.

    1. NIntendo was groundbreaking, Sony systems were just average. 64 bit was revolutionary, 32 bit was already average.

    2. Graphics were more better. They stood out from its competiters. They were more clearer, and great to look at.

    3. First party games on the system were way better than Sonys third party games.

PS1 may have sold more, but N64 was better. So get out of here Sony fanboy.

  • @Supergamerofchaos Bits were pretty much meaningless by then. Atari's failed 64-bit Jaguar console proved that. 32-bit PlayStation made a HUGE of impact on the gaming world, that's undeniable. Graphics can vary depending on the games. Playstation could do beautiful pre-rendered backgrounds. If Nintendo's 1st party games were better, Sony wouldn't have sold more. The truth is Sony's Playstation is all around the better console.

  • the 64 controller is my favorite controller

  • That orange N64 is epic :D

  • what color is the light on the front when you power it up

  • You don't need the joystick AND the dpad. It's there so you can choose to use the joystick or dpad if you want. You would use the joystick with your left hand.

  • If I could change five things in history I'd change these things

    -Stop slavery

-Stop World War I (which in turn would stop both communism and Nazism and World War II).

-Stop Martin Luther King from dying

    -Stop 9/11

-Give N64 a normal controller (something like the gamecube controller or wii classic controller) and make it CD based.

  • I remember getting this exact model back in kindergarten, best christmas EVER!

  • it will alway's bother me why nintendo never used cd,s for their n64.

yes i know that they were complaiming about that cd,s were vanurble for damage, pirecy copying and that it had slow loadtimes.

but nintendo solved those their problems with the never released cd rom addon.

by adding more ram to minimise loadtimes, putting cd,s in a caddy case to make them less vanurble for damage, and they had put the lockout chip inside the cd caddycase against pirecy copy.

why were they so heady againts cd,s!

  • zelda ocarina of time, where not a nintendo 64 exclusive, because when the gamecube came out they made a version for the gamecube as well ;)

  • sheamus????

  • pretty cool review but please get your facts straight. Yes the n64 was outmatched by ps1 but the 3do and the saturn didn't even come close. N64 sold almost 33 million copies while the saturn didn't even sell 10 and the 3do sold about 2 million. Not much of a competition there.

  • Your holding it so wrong man. Good review anyhow.

  • Man I Have Not Played My Nintindo 64 In Ages Now...If I Can Find The Damn Thing i would play it as often as i could...

  • this thing was a huge part of my childhood :DD

  • Man i could listen to you all day long :D awesome review man, greetings from Bosnia !

  • @ProductionLG Thanks!

  • @duncan33303 I miss the Nintendo 64 Nintendo isnt the same anymore :(

  • Best console ever made.

  • AH-CUH-REENUH.

  • I have translucent green!!!!! :)

  • With the controller, They did the three way because you could choose between the d-pad or the analog stick, which is pretty unique but not that great of an idea.

  • HELL YEAH!!!! OF COARSE UR FAVE GAME WAS OCARINA OF TIM!!!!!!!!!!! HEEEEEELLLLL YEEEEAHHHH!!!!!!! :D

  • I wonder if, in 15-20 years, we will be reviewing "old" 360, wii, and ps3 games?

It'll be pretty funny when MW2 is mentioned as much as Goldeneye in the n64 reviews.

  • @funkymunky65 probably, but sadly today's consoles aren't as durable as old consoles

  • @CRIF7k320 True, but, Still, More moving parts=More to break.

  • @CRIF7k320 Yeah and the new consoles arent as durable as they use to be and also there is way more online multiplayer now it would be nice if it was balanced with offline multiplayer aswell :/

  • @cooldude8912 yeah that's also true, although most console online games also support offline multiplayer most people is playin online, it was a lot cooler playing with your friends a 4 player match at mario kart64 battle mode (i loved this mode) or goldeneye, it was awesome, plus im not saying playing online isnt cool, because it is, im just saying its better playing offline multiplayer with your friends, eating some chips

  • @funkymunky65 probably, but sadly today's consoles aren't as durable as old consoles

  • Anybody else think he says "Hey, guys!" a lot like coolduder?

  • ive had nintendo 64 but i sold it to my cusin

  • I remember Super Mario 64, I always called Goombas doggies.

  • the middle handle was meant to be held in your left hand. in games such as Goldeneye 007, there was no use for the "L" button or the d-pad. in fact, the yellow buttons did the same thing as the d-pad. the controller wasn't meant to be held the way you did and try and stretch your hands across it.

Now, granted, some games did make use of the left handle. But those games didn't require use of the middle handle.

  • Would anyone recommend buying one of these now? Cause im feeling it

  • I will buy that for 20-100 dollars. Do you have any games for it?

  • @TheMrJokelife That's the one of the 5 most rare N64s the most rarest is either the clear gray or Gold Edition (aka the Zelda edition).

  • i think i still have mine somewhere in my house! :D mine is black .

  • for a new n64 its $600 on amazon im getting a used one

  • damn advertisements!!!!

  • my favorite game of all time is paper mario 64

  • omg i loved this thing.

  • OMG! N64! :D

  • I have the same colour :D

  • i had most fun times with my friends playing mario 64 zelda , smash bros and offcourse mario kart in that way it was the best system for me

  • my n64 is transparent purple, I call it the deep purple console :D

and that controler isn't spaceship looking design, it is majora's mask looking, thats what it reminds me of

  • Do you need the expansion pak to play N64 games?

  • @workout22p some of them do.

  • How to proprely wield the controller : Left hand on joystick , right hand on the ab side.

How was this so complicated to explain?

  • if the n64 was still selling today, would it still be popular like the Wii?

  • @qwertyguy76 if little kids would stop complaining about graphics and stay away from cock of doody.

  • @NextGenArtists agreed, i would get it.

  • the joy stick thingy looks like the nuck juk on the wii

    it the sam actually

  • There beastly mine still works after 11 years

  • i still play mine

  • I really liked your review; most reviews I've seen so far have just been very straightforward and don't really give personal opinions on anything. So it was definitely refreshing to see someone who actually put their personal opinion on a system review.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • @JohnnyElsewhereTV Thanks, glad you enjoyed!

  • @JohnnyElsewhereTV Man, you won't believe this but i walked into a store today, and my dad said i could buy a new syste. There was a Xbox and an N64. I chose the N64. And I'M ELEVEN!

  • @RandomTalkingGamer If you're only eleven, and picked the N64 over a newer gen console. You, sir, are a great kid.

  • @JohnnyElsewhereTV Yeah! I think Xbox and PS3 are flooded with FPSes and things similar. Also, i'm a hardcore Nintendo fan and wanted to try something different, and feel what kids at the time felt when they first played it. I LOVE the system already! I already have Super Mario 64 and Diddy Kong Racing for the system. But i need to get the expansion pack and the memory pack, because i want Mario Kart 64 and DK64. I'm having a lot of fun with it, so thanks for the compliment ! :)

  • @RandomTalkingGamer hey but mario kart doesnt need expansion pak, also it only uses the controller pak (memory card) to save the ghost data.

But DK64 does require the expansion pak, not sure if it uses controller pak, i think it doesnt

  • @JohnnyElsewhereTV i also agree wid u! duncan u make the best vid.. ever!

  • loved this system played it all the time when i was 5 ololol super mario 64 sigh... i dont really care for nintendo anymore though i like playstation and have alot of thwe psps and plan to get PSP2/NGP!

  • That controller looks like an upper body minus the head and hands LOL

  • I have a Green one.

  • First, the N64 was better than the PS1

Now, the PS3 is better than the Wii.

    What happened Nintendo?

  • aahhh memories! i have a collection of around 70 games! its almost like a border line hoarding-disorder haha

  • 64 games take like a year to beat.

  • I love the color of ur n64.

  • revuuuiw

  • ocarina of time...........one of the best games EVER

  • if the n64 used CD's it would own the ps1 because developers would be confident to develop for it,the games would be cheaper and the 64-bit graphics would look even better

  • I've never held it like you.. ø_O

I use my left hand for the middle er.. handle or whatever and my right on the right one. And I don't have small hands

  • Mario World 64 is the best game ever

  • dude cut the HEYYY GUYYYS! it pisses me off

  • Nintendo 69

  • heart beat***

  • Apple needs to come out with a console....and another thing Apple needs is a gps!!!!

I would buy one in a heard beat!!!!!!!!

  • @KalimPeltier92287 The reason Apple do not make a video game console is because in 1995 apple released a system called the Apple Bandai Pippin, was a HUGE commercial failure compared to the PlayStation, Saturn, and N64.

  • i hate microsoft they such there console come out wayyy after ps1 (sony) and nintendo 64 (nintendo)

  • Sega dream cast

  • Yeah I just wish my audio/video 3 prong thing wasn't messed up so I could play the original Super Smash Bros. But sadly I'll have to look for one at a Play n Trade/Gamestop or online sometime soon.

  • 1) greatest console ever IMO

    2) the gameboy pack screams POKEMON YELLOW to me idk about you guys

    And...

    3) your console doesn't rattle around like mine does when tilted... I might need to get that checked out :/

  • @Ian72994 Happens a lot to older cartridge based consoles, usually it's a few little pieces of dirt that have gotten in somehow.

  • @Ian72994 im think the same.

  • Great vid but u dont hold the controller like that u barely need the d pad on the left

  • "very compact compared to the consoles today" maybe but the consoles are leaps ahead so it makes sense if it does more things it needs more room

  • Pikachu N64 xD

  • I didn't see or feel anything wrong about the controller. I though it was a very smart idea. Most games didn't use all buttons but it worked. Most of the time your left had was holding the middle grip and the right hand was on the right grip. I have big hands and it didn't feel crammed. I guess the only thing wrong with it was that it was pretty big, but that wasn't even much of a big deal. And also the D-Pad sucks. Lol

  • this video would be help full 10 years ago

  • did you ever played Super Mario 64?

  • I have a Green one like your orange one.

  • nintendo 64 i loved this system i remember my brother getting it for christmas and we still have it but it doesnt work....

  • .....you're a little late on this kid

  • i miss this console

  • 007 Goldeneye isnt N64 exclusive for much longer! ^_^

  • @SqeakyGoldfish It is a 64-bit console. That is why it's called the Nintendo 64. That is also why an iPhone 3G cannot emulate the N64, it's only 32-bit.

  • i love the nintendo 64!!!...^_^

  • Well, Ducan there another reason why they choose the Cartridge instead, it's not an obvious reason until you think about it and was that its harder to pirate a cartridge than a CD.

  • @Brightstars19 Indeed, that was probably the biggest reason Nintendo did it. Same for the Gamecube with the Mini DVD format they used.

  • @duncan33303 Good point with the gamecube.

  • @duncan33303 I think also Nintendo thought that cartridges didn't get damaged as easily...

  • @Brightstars19 and a cartridge cant get scratched like a CD once a cd gets TOO scratched it wont work 100% correctly

  • Comment removed

  • you forgot Star Fox 64 "Do a Barrel roll"

  • zelda ocarina and smash bros im trying to buy them at a swapmeet but they cost 20 -30 bucks!

  • You should have testeded out and played some games

  • i still have one lol

  • where can i get one omfg? there all sold out! lol jk kinda late on the review XD

  • I had the N64 and Zelda Ocarina of Time was just so awesome!

  • god i hate it when people go on all your videos and ask about the new jailbreak. So......any news on the new jailbreak? jk i know theres not, great vid though

  • the unique joystick became the wii numchuck

  • great video duncan!

  • kool vid

  • i still have it lol great console

  • Hey! review dreamcast that thing is badass!!

  • the n64 controller is awesome! It worked perfectly with me.

  • I just noticed that the joystick/trigger in the middle is basically a built in wii nunchuck

  • I think I have one of these somewhere! Epic system! Pokemon Stadium FTW!

  • Why do Nintendo call it the N64? It's not like it has 64bit graphics or anything...

  • I love the n64 and I would sooooo buy the ps3 in translucent orange. But I'm really weird so...

  • i can also run less than legal(probably) emulators on computers try Google i am not doing to give any direct links

  • idont think anyone would by an orange consol anymore

  • @jerddd1 i would.

  • @lokenovez sry to offend u

  • i miss my 64. it was my baby until my actual child got jealous and destroyed it

  • ur a little late on the review bud

  • i love your videos and i like your style but please move forward and stop reviewing old crap. i would rather see you review new stuff i rate and commented. i want everyone else to do the same

  • i just bought this yesterday

  • I got a Gold N64, man.

  • was the orange 64 special edition?

  • @TheRottonapple I don't think so.

  • @TheRottonapple Yes.... came out in limited quantities....

  • I've just gotten into collecting these things. How much do they run, for a used console? 30 USD? 40 USD?

  • @Newbonzy They can run anywhere from as low as $15-20 for a loose decent condition model up to around $50-60 for a MIB N64. If you want an Expansion Pak that usually adds $15-20. All in all quite affordable.

  • @duncan33303 Ah, thanks a lot. Should be affordable.

  • the controller is huge lol

  • woot woot OLD SCOOL. loving the 64 even today lol

  • i loved ocarina of time wish i had my brothers' N64 ahh good times good times

  • i miss mine:(

  • lol old times xD

  • super nintendo is the best. I didnt really get into the 64, terrible controllers
