  • By the OT definition, private property includes people. This was acceptable to most Christians till 150 years ago. Still is acceptable to some today.

  • Fuck "christian" prosperity gospelers. Jesus would throw up.

  • Luke 1:52-53, pace John Locke.

    he has brought down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of humble estate;

he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty.

  • This is utter bunk. It claims that the Bible explicitly endorses capitalism, when, in fact, this is an interpretation of the Bible--and a rather strained one at that.

  • One type of property encouraged by the Bible they conveniently forget to mention: slaves.

  • How does God's love abide in anyone who has the world's goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help?” (1 John 3:16-17 NRSV)

  • You people scare me.

  • These people are under the impression that we're all owners of businesses. Most people don't get paid more when they work harder, they just get more work. If you make burgers at McDonalds, and you make them really fast, you don't get more money. The incentive is not getting fired, it's not about making money money, unless your naive enough to believe you can be one of the 0.1% at the top. Then I feel bad for you.

  • regarding being God's stewards:

Ge 1:27,28 And God created man in His image; in the image of God He created him... And God said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply and fill the earth, and subdue it. And have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the heavens, and all animals that move upon the earth.

Ps 8:4,6 what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man, that You visit him?...You made him rule over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet:

  • The right to property is not an inherent right, just like Jesus did not tell the world they had rights and to go out a get a job and contribute to society.

Just the opposite, do what you wish and what feels right. Be kind and respectful of all forms of life.

God is the creator, yet I disagree that humans are the stewards of property on behalf of God.

This all sounds ridiculous in this video.

    But thanks.

  • so did jesus tell everyone to work?

    Matt 19:26

23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, "I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.

24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

  • wow 3:04 - 4:02, that was said amazingly well.

  • no, it wasnt
