@oellh Folks at BYU never talk about this game. We talk about Oklahoma, 4th and 17, George in OT and Beck to Harline, the Miracle Bowl, 1984, '90 Holiday Bowl revenge and Detmer's Heisman. I was at the game and on campus for the next several years, and rarely did anyone bring up Notre Dame.

For them it was Mormons vs Catholics, I dated a girl form that church and whent to that church for sevel years and I know it would be a touchy subject for their "true church" to lose against what they call "the great abominable church" lol some of the fan made signs from the byu fans on this game read "which church is truie?" and "God is on our side" lol

@MrCatholicKnight -My correctin, byu won this year but Notre Dame beat them pretty bad the next in 2005. So far the series is Notre Dame 3 and byu 2 and in 2012 they will play each other again lol

Notre Dame hasn't had a winning season since 2006. They have won ONE bowl game in the last SIXTEEN years. They have the NCAA record for most bowl losses in a row (NINE). They are 15-21 over the last three years. In the last three years BYU has been ranked HIGHER than Notre Dame in every major poll. We don't play you because we want COMPETITION, not a glorified scrimmage.

I wasn't aware that determined who would win a match-up this year. Why didn't YOU play US in 2006? 2002? 2000? 1998? Might you have lost all of those? I can pick and choose years if I want as well. Get over yourself. ND-BYU would be a compelling game this year. Not the imaginary blowout you jack-off to at night.

BYU was coming out of a bad era (2002-2004), and ND did have some talent in 05 including the mismatch with Robinson and Jeff Smarztcha(however you spell it), but I wouldn't expect that to happen again...if we would have played you in 06, 07, and this year, you guys would be toast....cant argue with that essay..

hahaha wow....BYU in a bad era? This past decade has been a bad era for Notre Dame (save '05 and '06)..and sorry, I can argue that Notre Dame would have beaten BYU in '06 as well as '08 ('07, ND sucked even worse)

lets see...you guys beat a 0-12 Washington team by a blocked PT...and ND soundly smacked them 31-7 (UW's only TD came against 3rd stringers and walk-ons)

College football is a game of momentum....if the offence for the life of them cant put up any points and keeps turning the ball over, the defense will eventually crash. Point being, BYU had a much better season, and appeared to be a much better team than ND this year. Few will argue with that
