I've owner built a pole frame house the conventional way - cement and building inspectors etc, but now I long for earth under my feet .. So after watching your video's I've decided a tipi in the backyard would be absolutely perfect :)
I am so glad you have the desire to build a tipi, too. I understand the feel of earth beneath your feet. I love going in the tipi in the winter where I can see real soil again!
No cedar around here - I'm in the upper south island of New Zealand .. Lots of Manuka though (tall & thin), plus I've already made a fence of driftwood woven through with buddleia prunings, so will probably do something similar for my tipi ..
I can't even imagine living with all your snow - it looks stunningly beautiful! We don't get snow here, but it does cover the two mountains my valley is held between, so I'm lucky enough to get the view, and a garden, albeit a frosty one at times :)
