Cool! That projector was invented by Alvah Roebuck, who was the Roebuck in Sears Roebuck. He left that company in 1896, and later started Motiograph.
He was originally a watch repairman. The first thing Richard Sears sold was watches. Sears hired Roebuck so that he could guarantee the watches he sold by catalog. The brick and morter stores could do that, and the only way Sears could compete with them was to offer guarantees.
