The Declaration of Independence says Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. It does not bestow the Bill of Rights onto non-US Citizens. If this were the case, all courts outside of the US would cite the US Constitution as pertaining to their own people too. Not Americans mind you...the International Red Cross. The Declaration of Independence says Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. It does not bestow the Bill of Rights onto non-US Citizens. If this were the case, all courts outside of the US would cite the US Constitution as pertaining to their own people too. But you seem happy to allow anyone outside our country the same luxury of having the Constitution apply to them as well. What part of these Rights for US CITIZENS do you not get?

Human rights are not a "luxury". The declaration of independence says, in context"We hold these truths to be self evident that ALL men are created equal and endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights and AMONG(not limited to) them are ... pursuit of happiness. Only a fascist or supremacist thinks its ok to kill or maim in order to preserve privilege. You can't make the world your personal ante-bellum plantation and not expect a Nat Turner to rise up. In fact you would deserve it.

It's disturbing that you think the heinousness of their crimes somehow waives the principles of Western civilization. Any prisoner that hasn't been tried is innocent until proven guilty, they have the right to know why they are being held, there can be no cruel or unusual punishment, there can be no torture. These are the rights of all humans beings, regardless of what they have done or if they respect your or my rights to the same things. We are better than our fears and our desire for revenge.

I think we should subject Rohrabacher to all the torture techniques - every single one of them, one at a time. If he screams during any of them, then we declare that technique torture. The sessions s/ be filmed & aired in his home district. A couple of months s/ do the trick.
