  • Those 92 dislikers must be quite deaf, 'cause it's Liszt who wrote that... It CAN'T be bad. Liszt is always magnificent!

  • Turned the music into Japanese folk tune-- not the first time noticing

  • Nicely done!

  • sorprendente

  • I wish Liszt came to life and played that piece in my hall. = ( What a genius...

  • Bravo! Bravo! A beautiful, sensitive performance with an amazing attention to detail, exploring the subtleties of the piece commonly overlooked by most performers who only understand the work as a technical recitation.

  • adorable...

  • the extensive use of rubato, beautiful.

  • my favorite interpretation of 'La Campanella'

  • 87 Dislike????

  • I find this, along with Zimmerman's Impromptu nr 4, and Mozarts Piano nr.21 -Andante, and Paganini's and Stravinsky's work, extraordinary beautiful.

  • cant hear to any version after hearing cziffra...damn

  • I know somebody who plays better than Atsuko Seta. Liszt

  • @MrJackanthony Never heard of Valentina Lisitsa, have you..

  • @arcimagess Never heard of Kissin, have you..

  • Bellissimo, bravissima!!

  • Schmitty is an obvious troll...

  • pretty good, a bit more practice and you will be there!!

  • 84 people are mentally retarded and didn't felt goosebumps while hearing this piece.....sadly...

  • Atsuko Seta is great

  • I love Liszt. So beautiful and peaceful. I wish I was at a high enough skill level to play some of these kinds of pieces /-:

  • @momerath2189 Me too, but then I realize I still have ears; and then I go and listen to some good musics.

  • Heard her in Carnegie hall playing Beethoven's 3rd piano concerto, she was brilliant, but I thought she could've been bolder.

Check out clair de Lune by Dov Zamore... kid does pretty well.

  • Not the best interpretation. My neighbor's kid plays this way better.

  • @schmitty135

I thought that u r really crazy and stupid when u compare a professional pianist with a kid.

  • @kikyou751998 You haven't heard my neighbor's kid play it fool. Until then....STFU. You're the one who is crazy. I bet you've never left a negative comment. Is that correct?

  • @schmitty135

Hey, stop saying those nonsense sentences. Ahaha, A KID, I thought that u r a KID, and u praise a kid.

  • @kikyou751998 I know talent you fool. On the other hand, you know nothing about the intrinsic value of good music.

  • @schmitty135 Why do you keep posting comments on piano professionals videos about your neighbour which doesn't have a single video posted? Kinda tired of seeing a troll among these videos.

  • @6bern6 Now you listen up fool. My neighbor's kid is a genius. He doesn't have time to waste posing videos on youtube. He has a full scholorship to Eastman. You know nothing.

  • @schmitty135 Could you atleast post his name or his reportoire? As far as I've read, he knows every piece that great professionals play, and he plays all of them way better. I would then be glad to get to know all of what he plays. Could i even get to know his teacher's name,or does he learnt how to play alone?

Since he's such a big genius, I also guess that there may be any article around the internet about him. I would enjoy really much to read one of those articles.

  • Responder a este vídeo... But then, I can't find a kid on internet who plays this liszt piece, the ballades and scherzos of Chopin as you claim... A kid who would play that would be known among many countries I bet.

  • @PianistBSantos Listen santos you don't know talent. My neighbor's kid is a genius and doesn't have time to waste posting videos on youtube. He will be the next Horowitz. Watch out fool!

  • @schmitty135 I didn't say that the videos HAVE to be posted. I just said that there should be any article around the internet playing such pieces. The article may not even have been written by him. IF he would be the next Horowitz, he would be known.

There's no need to be calling me a fool, as insults aren't required in a conversation.

So,again, Is there any single page on the internet about an excellent piano kid playing very hard pieces, and being known as the next Horowitz?

  • @schmitty135 probably for your music taste.... never going to exist "the best interpretation"... idiot

  • Inspired talanted performer.

  • Yes Alicia is also very good. Its a pity that I cannt see her playing..........another favourit is Sara Ott but still cant understand YW1935 can plays this piece

  • Wtf , she even used the whole wrong chord at the last seconds , listen again , and her emotions sucks because she always do that but its not nice at all

  • She could be the Yundi Li's Sister :D

  • This is not good, see and listen to Kissin, Jundy Li, Lang Lang, AYApiano and also YW1935 a 12 young girl who plays very well

  • @antonius0123456789 If you want to hear another austanding Campanella: "La Campanella" played by ALICIA DE LARROCHA. I trully recomend it!!!! Most of the people doesn't know she played it. You can find it in You Tube.

  • The melody tickles my heart and makes me wanna smile.. :)

  • She plays piano with love, not just to show off too much techniques.

  • how can somebody dislike this??!!

  • Kissin is better

  • @SteIIaNera If you want to hear another austanding Campanella: "La Campanella" played by ALICIA DE LARROCHA. I trully recomend it!!!! Most of the people doesn't know she played it. You can find it in You Tube.

  • It's very clear that she is really putting emotion into this performance. An Excellent version.

  • His original hungarian name was FERENC Liszt.

  • duuuh very unsteady tempo...

  • @1203456789 And? who cares, if you want steady tempo listen to a computer. I'll take this anyday!

  • @FibreOpticLlama or listen to pianists that could play this piece correctly, the way it is suppoed to be played...

a steady tempo is one important thing when ur playing any piece on any instrument.

  • drastically different version of La Campanella from what im used to, im not saying this because this is slower, no,..

I realized again i only listen to musicians within my expectations and boundary.

This was a fresh experience for me.

  • random question, if anyone can answer it: I'm not classically trained so I was wondering if this piece would be easier to play on a piano with keys that have a "lighter" touch? My upright acoustic piano keys are a but difficult to push, I guess you can say "harder." Would this inhibit me to play pieces more accuratley and fast?

  • @repeatdreaming If it has a third pedal to the left, holding it down helps; but you probably know that already. I personally prefer playing on pianos that have a light touch to them. Not too light though. But one of my own pianos has a bit too much weight in the keys, and it bothers me a bit when I'm playing say, the 3rd movement of the Moonlight Sonata.

  • @Davidkracht yes, I use the third pedal on the left on these pieces because it makes it much easier to play. However, it diminishes the sound by a lot to the point where I press certain keys and they can't be heard. Do you think it's just my piano, is there anyway I can adjust the pedals and fix this problem? When I try to play difficult pieces, my hands are literally numb at the end :/

  • @repeatdreaming

Well.....after practicing the same hard piece for a few months, my endurance has improved considerably. I don't think there's much you can do about your piano itself, though.....besides buying a new one which you've of course tested first.

Sorry, I don't have any wise words to help you here~ :/

  • @Davidkracht thanks anyway! :)

  • @repeatdreaming There is an invaluable resource available for free at pianopractice. org in PDF format called Fundamentals of Piano Practice by Chuan C. Chang. It'll answer any questions you may have related to the piano and quite possibly slap you upside the head (as it did me on page 30) while it's at it. ;)

Definitely a must read for all pianists and their teachers.

  • @durentis thank you, i'll check it out :)

  • There are just three pianists who play this piece as it should be played and they are Cziffra, Kissin, and Lisitsa. Although I like all of those three performers and their playing of 'La Campanella', the only true and very best one is Cziffra. It's not just his technical abilities, his abilities to show the audience the real soul of the Campanella. It's always good for yall people to remember the best performer of Liszt was, and still remains, Cziffra.

  • Although Ms. Seta did have lots of places with a good tone quality, this piece' idea, or if you would like soul, was not interpreted as it should. Liszt was addicted to Paganini's virtuosness on the violin and wanted to become the same on the piano, and that's why he used lots of themes from Paganini. This etude's theme is a paganini one combined with Hungarian motives, and should be played very virtuoso. She misinterpreted this piece, I don't say it was bad at all, but that wasn't Liszt.

  • Lol at troll and morons raging at troll.

  • I wonder if this didn't have the title "hardest of all", would it still be as famous only due to his musicality and melodical merit..

  • @MrPneunomia Its a very beautiful song, i grew up listening to it. It actually sounds fairly easy until the end.

  • @AngryKhan

The entire piece is based on almost only one theme (which is a nice melody, I agree), but is overplayed in many different ways throughout the piece. Not just the end is hard as you said tho (at least for me). You should see a video where you are able to view the hands from a close view to understand why its hard all along.

  • @MrPneunomia

this piece is famous because it is composed by liszt who was a huge lier but a good thing came of his lies. He said that his music that he wrote was written by famous musicians so that people would hear his music because in his time people only wanted to listen to old famous composers not new upcoming composers. So techincally it was okay that he lied because it brought so much wonderful new music into this world.

  • @alahbalah u worth less than half her nail

  • Amazing technique! Lovely interpretation as well :) A bit slow though.

  • alot of dynamics missing. doesnt sound right. some wrong notes as well. NEEDS MORE PRACTICE

  • tempo is off

  • ASIAN PEOPLE ARE TOO SMALL TO PLAY THIS! IT SOUNDS LIKE SHIT! HANDS MUST BE VERY BIG! SMALL HANDS DON TWORK!

  • @alahbalah Post a video first and surpass her great piano skills before commenting like this.

  • @alahbalah Yundi Li

  • Very Emotional!

  • Please, I'm looking for a site where I can download the version of Atsuko Seta "La Campanella", if anyone knows the site where I can download this free music would be great

  • it's funny how some ppl say that they find this interpretation rather slow, when in fact she plays it as it's marked on the sheet music: allegretto ... other pianists often use this piece as an encore and then play it allegro vivace or vivace

  • It's great!!!

  • To "bonjour" -

    A. this song is not meant to have a constant "tempo" the tempo and beat style may change to ways which you do not understand... but that is the beauty of the piece. besides the fact that this lovely pianist played a beautiful Liszt piece so well... she plays with a lot of passion and soul.. which pianists like I strive to do so well.. The true brilliance about piano is diving into a piece of music and letting your heart take over all.

    B. look up the original song and you'll see

  • I like it...

  • This is played so beautifully, with so much passion and emotion. Well done. Bravo

  • not so good. Tempo is not constant.

  • @bonjourr

obv. you don't play piano then, because when you play, you play with your soul, and thats not always in "tempo". ppl who keep tempo are called stupid drummers.

but i have nothing against drummers. lol

  • @Ilovepink700 WTf sould bull shit. u play the song if ur good at it not caues ur soul is intertwined with the song. chill the fuk out with this soul BS

  • @alahbalah First learn english and then learn to argue. After learning to argue learn to play piano, and after that, try to beat this girl. After all that, you're allowed not to be a piece of shit.

  • I wonder why many people think that "Faster = Better". Yes, there may be other pianists on Youtube who plays the song faster, and yes, it may look more impressive to see someone play La Campenella at a fast speed, I'll give you that, but.....no other performance of this have given me chills down my back three times in a row.

    Beautiful~

  • Beautiful!

  • You don't really need huge hands to play this...regardless how big your hands are, nobody can span 2 octaves, there'll be big jumps no matter what. :)

  • This performance exudes both style and class. I loved it!

  • this is a beautiful interpretation, an extremely musically and sensible pianist.

and for those who say she can't play, have you ever trief this peice? its extremely hard, so shut up and try to do it better!

  • @hotbebimauz I'd have to agree with you. I tried this piece but I practically gave up because of the huge intervals... and I get tired trying to run through it, even at a reduced speed.

  • What I find particularly funny is that there r ppl giving advice to the player. A quick wikipedia search will show you that she's a PROFESSIONAL PLAYER for over 30 yrs. I think she knows what she's doing without any of us telling her what to do.

The interpretation is a lot slower than most interpretation but I don't particularly mind it. You rather play slow and beautifully then fast and all bashy/messy. I find this interpretation refreshing.

  • valentina lisitsa plays this much better in my opinion. this piece is obviously meant to stun the audience. to each his own i guess

  • its really hard i mean but you should put feelings when playing it will be good to hear

  • there are no limits to emotion.

  • this must be one of the hardest pieces i have ever played -.-

  • she is great. and yundi li a bit greater

  • Nice playing but I think nobody can play better than Yundi. He just rocks it. No human can play like him. I find it the hardest piece to play.

  • It's so soft and gentle... A rather slow and beautiful imterpretation and I love it.

And is it me or is there some guy breathing into the microphone at some times???

  • kinda of slow

  • Magnificence!

  • An image of a mother caring for her child came to my mind as I watched and listen to this piece. :)

  • this piece sounds so beautiful....amazing job...but try not to look a little jumpy i know that people play piano with passion but u over do it just a tad but GREAT JOB =)

  • Nice playing, tempo a bit slower, very nice interpretation. You can listen to Yundi Li playing this piece, his out of this world technique.

  • too slow, especially in the beginning, speed it up and you're fine. Good Job!

  • What piano is that? Sounds so good~ Steinway & Sons or Yamaha?

  • @davidsunsbk its a steinway. you can just make out the small golden symbol on the side

  • And I don't think I'm being overly critical, even the very simple chromatic passage at 4:00 didn't sound spot on. I don't think I've ever had to say in my life that "I could play that part better" on such a difficult piece. Also, I'd look less insane.

  • Don't Japanese players make less mistakes, use less absurd rubato, and make less psychotic movements? Maybe not. Nice outfit.

  • Fuck all you jealous wankers that leave nasty comments. She plays beautifully. It's one of the best I've seen :D

  • Awesome job, and yeah... for those who don't know about piano... don't talk shit, piano isn't just playing it.. it's feeling it...

  • @playsboss piano is about trying to make lots of money.

  • @Mixarenan i smell a troll

  • @xBlazingSnipex was it that obvious?

  • get a life, you don't know what you're talking about

  • @alahbalah

    Fuck you

    are u blind?

    isn't she asian?

    what about Yundi Li?

he can play this piece perfectly.

    FUCK

  • @i0wnDaWorld

Yundi Li is a world class pianist. Sure, if you look at it in the scope of the great pianists, she's second rate, but she's good for a concert pianist in general. She's good enough to win international competitions and what not.

She's an Asian Woman, which gives you about the lowest chance of being appreciated for performance. However, here I think a little bit more tempo and staccato would have added to the performance.

  • @alahbalah Well, hello, moron! Yundi Li, Lang Lang, George Li, and Atsuko Seta play this perfectly.

  • No, you are. Look. Heh heh heh heh. You spelled your and suck wrong!

  • @alahbalah You are a misleading, annoying, and pathetic little guy. You are very dumb, and do not have anything nice to say, and is so dumb that he was too dumb to SAY IT!

  • Who cares about your neighbor? Why are you criticizing on something you probably can't do yourself.

Seem as though you are 'Mr Perfect' play it yourself and post it on Youtube, then we will make the opinion on that and make rude comments on your playing.

  • then get the hell over your friends house and listen to him play it, can you do it? exactly what i thought, so don't talk shit on the people who can, you only wish you could play a forth of what she can

  • Kill yourself, barbarian!

  • @alahbalah Keep your dirty mouth SHUT unless you have anything nice to say.

  • WOW. What a beautiful player you are!!!!!! I wish I could play as good. SO refined

  • sounds softer than Yundi Li's version

    but i love both

  • I just spilled my coffee reading the below.. it's relieving to know that 9/10 of those who criticise can't play the piano to a competent level but seriously - give the lady respect for doing a damned good job, this isn't a 'recording studio' version like some have compared it to it's live! Excellent 6 stars hehe :)

  • I'm sorry, you must have mistaken me. I respect her very much, and she is a great pianist. She played Moonlight 3rd mvmt beautifully. But she didn't do such a great job here, though great attempt. You can't just blindlessly admire her, you have to be critical about it.

  • Fair point, but I would disagree - I think a bit of praise goes further when deserved, at the end of the day she's not asking us to tell her how to play it's pretty obvious she can do that so I reckon it's better just to sit back and enjoy the fruits of her labour so to speak :0)

  • Of course. If I was in the audience, I would applaud and cheer for her. She worked hard on this song so she deserves a lot of praise. whether or not she delivered it well is a different story. :)

  • Watch Valentina Lisitsa's version - Best version ever.

This piece is very demanding, and she needs bigger hands (sorry no offence to her). HUGE leaps..

  • Her posture is not good at all. not bad, but not the speed version one must play on a concert. This is the speed you play for practice at home. Again, not bad but she needed more work done on this obviously. Let's not forget we're talking about playing Liszt here, not an easy piece to play.

  • Hey everybody , you should listen to the valentina lisitsa version which is very very great: simplicity , fluent ... even cute !

  • How nice of you to say that. I will inform her of your complaint next time I'll see her. Obviously she has no right to look the way she does.

We'll put a bag over her head or something. Will that do it for you?

  • @corporate88slave Wow! I laughed so hard at your comment! LMAO!

  • whoa......................good stuff

  • Yundi Li > all as far as this piece is concerned.

  • The last :30 seconds of this piece reminds me of drunkard rolling his face on the piano :/

  • i still think Yundi's best....

she's lost the reason why i love la campanella....

she made it slow when i really love it the way it is...

the slow interpretation for la campanella is not the best for me.....

    :(

  • well, it's not the greatest execution I've ever listened to..

  • the best Liszt interp. I've seen so far.

  • Comment removed

  • too much rubato, as if she's attempting to cloak insufficient technique

  • nice

  • @porta123stella

Well I think Yundi Li's version is the best..

  • wao,atsuko-san sugoi!

  • Breathe Taker = =^^^^

  • Why is there always a cougher in the audience. Throw the bum out!

  • Amazing!!

  • no way

  • she´s so amazing!,

    she really plays with emotion.

    I think she´s the best.

    5 stars!

  • hermosooooooooooooooooo!!!!

  • hmm I don't really like this interpretation, too much variations in tempo for me (sometimes even as if she isn't totally in control)

    Nevertheless, it's certainly not bad.

  • liszt took the theme from paganini's concerto in b minor.....

  • i'm interested in buying a piano, money is not a problem, what is recommended?

  • You'd better ask the piano-salesman. He'll know.

  • The keystroke and the sound are the most important criteria. Just try out some and you will find out, wich you like best. Personally, I would buy a branded produkt.

  • the very best make of piano is Steinway & Son, most concert halls have a Steinway grand...

  • i have a small steinway grand =) and a really bad yamaha upright lol

  • Steinway&Son is the best choice ;)

  • in the US it seems everyone thinks that S&S is the only great piano maker. There r other great piano makers such as Bosendorfer and Bechstein.

  • The best pianos are Steinway and Songs, but the Yamahas are also good.
