I remember playing an MK game on the nes with my younger brother. A family friend gave the consle and games to us and I remember being pretty shocked at seeing the mature rating on MK. My parents would always limit me when I was younger. i was only allowed to play for 30 mins a day and not a minute more. And over the years I would learn to limit myself to an hour or hour 1/2. if i have a test the next day,I wont play at all the night before.

I remember playing an MK game on the nes with my younger brother. A family friend gave the consle and games to us and I remember being pretty shocked at seeing the mature rating on MK. We never had a game in the house before so they thought it was just a werid new type of game. I remember many afternoons of FATLITYS! Ahhh good times. And I was 10 by the way... XD

That's not to say that I don't get frustrated, though, but the amount of fun I have playing games makes all the frustration seem insignificant. I see video games exactly as you do., The thrill of pop culture doesn't come from the violence, itself, but from other factors (in the case of video games, it's the narrative, the challenge, or, in the case of online games, competition). Similar goes for films, music, and literature.

One time I was in gamestop and a kid asked his mom for halo. the mom looked like she was on the verge of tears. then another time a kids parents picked him up and carried him out of the store for asking for red dead redemption. so thats why I spazzed out.

My parents would always limit me when I was younger. i was only allowed to play for 30 mins a day and not a minute more. And over the years I would learn to limit myself to an hour or hour 1/2. if i have a test the next day,I wont play at all the night before.

Also, video games do not promote violence, either. I bet that at least 95% of the people who play video games on a regular basis (including myself) have yet to kill anyone. & does that parent @ 2:00 really think that kids will rip heads with bare hands?

Those games can be frustratingly hard. Megaman games can be played by all ages, but many megaman games are really hard ! For example both European countries had Konami's Contra game moddes with robots instead of Humans and called it "The Probotectors". Just recently Austrailia almost banned the upcoming Sega / Rebellion's "Aliens Vs Predator" game both for PS3 & 360. They deemed it too realistic as far as the motion capture in the acts of violence.
