I think that I am impressed by the ad alone. I cannot think of a better phone to buy at this time. I don't know if I can do what droid does or If droid can do what I want Droid to do. Those two are not mutually exclusive, or maybe they are. I just need to feel better about myself with a super powerful brainy phone. Hopefully it lives up to it's name.

I picked up a DROID 2 last week. This commercial does an accurate job of relaying how well made this device is. It has a handsome, industrial design, like it was built for a man and not a preteen girl. It's about the same size as my wife's iPhone 3GS, but weights more and feels bulletproof. The QWERTY keyboard slides in and out of place with a satisfyingly heavy click (accurately represented in the commercial), and Android 2.2 running on the 1GHZ OMAP CPU is blisteringly fast. Awesome device.

@ThornfullessRose It doesn't have motoblur it only has Motorola widgets that why it has android 2.2 on release unlike phones like Samsung epic 4g that runs on a custom ui it has to wait for the 2.2 upgrade. The color shouldn't matter if its only a slight blue in it and the silver is actually better since the chromed part on droid was a bit mismatched. But overall this is a true successor to droid until we hit the next wave of upgrade os and chips like android 2.3 and 2.0 ghz processors.

So either 3.0 or 2.3 but all i know theres going to be another update right after the Fall update. And Motoroloa already plans to release a android device with a 2.0ghz processor.

@praetorian2150 I am NOT trying to defend the iPhone, but this is just a refresh from the first Droid a year ago, not much work for Motorola. Incredible and Eris are by HTC... so it's really the Droid 2 and Droid X (which share a lot of stuff anyway) vs Apple's one phone, which is still selling like hotcakes (despite being shitty) so why make another. I'd like to see raw sales numbers of AT&T iPhones sold in the 30 days after launch and Droid X's sold in the 30 days after launch.

I know it's just an ad, but seriously I have yet to work in an office environment that was okay with letting you text while in a meeting in a conference room. In some offices you get fired just for having your phone out and on ringer. How about show the guy a few minutes before the meeting with a last minute change in the itinerary and his Droid effectively helping him solve the problem? If u really need a physical keyboard to live, then the droid 2 for sure. but if u don't need a physical keyboard and expect to watch a ton of movies on ur phone, the droid x is where it is at. The droid incredible is pretty incredible and is smoother than the droid x and although the screen isn't as big, the color clarity is insane. just gotta figure out which features are more important. or u could wait for the samsung facinate, just saying

@JohnAP2 Probably not, because HTC was getting there screens from Samsung...which means that the screens had to be manufactured then sent to HTC and so on...with Samsung making their own screens for their own phones then it makes it alot easier process...not only that, i cant tell if you were trying to make a stab the Incredibles SLCD screen, because SLCD screens are better than LCDs

Sense UI and other skins like Motorola's MotoBlur are the worst thing that Android could ever have. HTC and Motorola modify the framework and breaks third party applications. We don't need those things, they are the ones that are actually causing fragmentation in Android.
