  • Just ordered my copy a few days ago! Are there tutorials for beginners and how to get started with each tool? Tips and Tricks?

  • Very well edited promo.

  • YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

  • fl studio 10 combined with fl mobile for ipad ipod or iphone is better than reason in my opinion lil wayne, eminem, beyonce, soulja boy and more all have used beats made by fl studio

  • I still have Reason 4 never had reason 5 =/....do i have to buy 5 or the full version of 6? or can i just get the reason 6 upgrade? jus wondering

  • @Funkadellik805 You can just get the 6 upgrade. As a previous owner of Reason you qualify for the discount upgrade direct to 6.0 Enjoy!

  • @PropellerheadSW Can i import a mp3 instrumental on reason 6 and add vocals to it also,........ pretty much what im saying is can i recording a song reason 6?

  • @kooliestvizion Pretty sure you can that, through what used to be record.

But just a hint, stay away from mp3 files, use a lossless format instead.

  • Man I love reason It basically teached me everything. after using it six months I whas tyred of it because of the sound quality. so brought some nice equipment,

Anyhow if you're starting out with music, it's definatly worth it's money to learn.

  • you guys still need a decent reverb.

  • ive never used reason and im downloading reason 5 right now im pretty sure i wont understand anything so thats just more shit i wont understand

  • Is all this extra hardware required?

  • hmmm....

Give me one reason to buy this...

    YEAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • @iCamEntertainment hahaha :D

  • @poonbot5k no worries same here haha

  • I just started to learn reason 5 too :O

  • i use version 5, its perfect, join my channel to listen works and remixes

  • video song?

  • Looks cool. though i'm a FL user ^^

  • oh shit...this looks orgasmic..if only i could afford it..

  • The only thing better than 64 bit is the 69 sex act.

  • "Oh yeah, It's 64bit"

    Me: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • has ReCycle got an update? i would like to be able to edit DRoctorex loops and save them without having to use what feels like an extra clunky thing. can we get some sort of ReCycle with a ...idk..multiple que? so i could take 100+.wavs and back-to-back que them up place markers, save.then move to the next one automatically?

  • @PropellerheadSW i want to start producing dirty dubstep music like excision and Datsik, but all this stuff looks completely overwhelming to me. i know i have to learn a lot but there's so much that people don't tell you about their programs. is there anything that i can see that exposes everything about reason?

  • If i get this and i dont have all that snazzy stuff they have i only have a computer can i still use it to its full extent?

  • @ImMunchin Totally. All that snazzy stuff basically amounts to various types of piano keyboards to input notes to Reason. If you don't play an instrument like piano (for example I play guitar) you would tend to do most note inputing by mouse and trackpad anyway. Those things are just snazzy to make snazzy players feel at home. :)

  • @PropellerheadSW Ok thanks i need to consider getting it.

  • @ImMunchin my advise. youtube+reason tutorials

  • Oh yeah, ahh, it's 64 bit.

He saved the best for last. Funny!

  • I almost want it.

  • So when you buy Reason 6, do you also get all the stuff that Record does??

  • Will Reason ever support VSTs? That (and the price) is really the thing that turns me off of it.

  • Yeah I just bought Reason 6 of Amazon for 300 quid!

Im sure I could have got a hacked version but I wanna support the developers cos Reason really is awesome!

  • still no vst support this is what is holding reason back

  • @VSTMAFIA You could rewire reason into a daw what supports VST if you wish

  • Comment removed

  • is this out allready??

  • @MrRidisc totally! What are you waiting for?!! Let's get beat-making!! :)

  • @PropellerheadSW haha seriously!! thanks for the awnsers...

  • @PropellerheadSW is the cracked version out?

  • @PropellerheadSW Im scared :(

  • looks like a DAW used more for electronica type music.

I like the fact that it's 64 bit.

  • @nstygatr Not really. Sure Propellerhead has their roots in electronic music with things like ReBirth, ReCycle, and even Reason 1.0. But Reason 6 is a studio rack with all the gear you'd need to make any conceivable genre. It's used by Hip Hop guys, soul, R&B, gospel, acoustic folk, game composers, pop, rock, metal, punk, and any other genre you'd imagine. I personally even use it as my post-production film mixing platform of choice because I like the ducking, side-chaining, and signal workflow.

  • @PropellerheadSW I'll have to check it out,. Just now getting started with Sonar X1 ands all it's changes... Thanks

  • @PropellerheadSW eh?yo dooz can i use this to make my fl studio stuff less quantized?my patterns is like...the are in order but they kinda move from one pattern to another kinda robotically, can i use reason to make it so that my fl studio stuff less unsmooth?

  • @PropellerheadSW can this be used to make dubstep

  • @RicanBoy1993 sure sounds like it with the echo and pulvizer used together!

  • @RicanBoy1993 anything can

  • @nstygatr you can use any daw for anytype of music

  • I really wish Reason would support MIDI out, they don't need to have major vst support, just something so you can use you're hardware with it.

  • @IAmBound What's a hardware?? Like a mouse? lol.

  • @petefaders You're joking right? haha it's fine if you're not. I mean like analog hardware synths. Like real-life versions of Reasons Thor synth.

  • 1:27 "Alligator is a 3-band pattern based gay-defect"

  • @0hmish Gate effect. Dumbass.

  • i only use electronic synths, so il stick with reason 5?

  • If "The World" actually had a favorite music making platform, it would be a hell of a lot more flexible than Reason. Fact.

  • REason 6.. may as well be Record 2.0

  • no tutorial in french? :/

  • /watch?v=DaB2PddY-s0

    duration only 40 sec.. please!

    (hiphop/dubstep beat, new shit)

I know nobody's gonna read this. But I'm a 18 year old producer from amsterdam. I make beats for 4 years now & i think i got the right products to drop now.

Please support me. Keep it positive (L)

  • The sounds are great - what I'm concerned about though is the interface before I buy it - I'm used to working with a format like Logic, GarageBand or FL Studio - when I record in synth audio I need to be able to sync individual notes manually if you know what I mean? I know you say it has everything I just want to make sure....and how many tracks are you allowed to record? I produce as many as 30 per comp cause I'm crazy...oh yeah and is it mac compatible or windows?

  • holy sweet raptor Jesus

  • how do u use reason 6?

and how much does it cost?

  • @ajsuprcool Streep price is about $400 in the US. Your currency might be different (depending on where you're from). As for how to use it... I have only 344 characters remaining in this youtube comment! But I can promise you we have a HUGE amount of documentation, tutorial articles on our website, youtube tutorials, artist tutorials, and a huge community of users who help each other learn and grow in their production.

  • I dont regret anything buying reason.

  • you'd think the echo would be used to echo

  • @ethanville interesting

  • CAN I GET IT FOR FREE? :)

  • Can I use my drum core program and my other vpt's in the record in reasons 6 ?

  • I have a question. When I open my old projects that I have in reason 3 ,in the newer versions, many instruments are out of time. It would have some sort of fix this mess without being in one by one. Propellerhead could give attention to things as simple as that.

  • @chelao Not sure what you mean. Reason 6 is fully backwards compatible with previous Reason versions. In fact all versions of Reason have been fully backwards compatible with all previous versions. I regularly open Reason files all the way back to 1.0 and have never had a problem. Can you elaborate on what you're experiencing?

  • @PropellerheadSW Sorry my english. When i open one project in Reason 5 made whit Reason 3 , samplers and drum line open all scrambled. Out of time. Without sync. Unlike the version that opened it was made.

This occurs with Reason 4 too. With Reason 5 is the same.

  • @PropellerheadSW Thanks for help man!

  • Dumb question from Aroflex time again! :) - Can I use the matrix pattern sequencer directly to trigger an xoxbox (which I'm considering building) because I love writing 303ish patterns in the matrix?

  • @aroflex11 nah, not a dumb question. I'm not familiar enough with the xoxbox's connectors but if it has CV input then the answer is, "yes, using some technique that Peff has figured out." Google "Peff and CV output" and you'll find his page where he demos it.

  • @aroflex11 Cool - many thanks!

  • I'm (was) a long time Reason user since 1.5 to 4. IMO you guys dropped the ball on the sequencer. It's counter intuitive. Please at least have the option to use the sequencer in vintage mode or something. Then I'll consider 6. It sounds great.. but the sequencer is garbage.

  • How can I use my vpt into reason 6.0?

  • I'm still on version 3.0 so can I use those old sound patches on 6.0?

  • @phoen99rising Yeah everything is still there in Reason 6, you just have TONS more. :)

  • @PropellerheadSW am i able to buy the software and install it on 2 different computers?

  • @rootbeermcgee Reason 6 uses the ignition key for its authorization so you can install it on as many different computers as you want to. Just stick the key into that computer and you're fully authorized.

  • Hi, has the orchestral soundbank undergone any changes/upgrades over time since Reason 2???

  • Can someone help me? I got reason 6 and almost finished my song, but I decided it needed a beat. I made a pretty cool on in Redrum but I can't record it into the song. How do you do that?

  • @MitchRulzWorld if you made it in the built-in Redrum pattern sequencer, just right click the pattern banks and select "edit automation". then you can make clips in that lane to choose the pattern you want to play.

  • @HCShuffle quote[ show me one succesfull pro that uses reason...] when Tiesto got famous years ago, he used Reason for many of his tracks .. I think he was a Pro then already ?

  • Comment removed

  • i bought reason 6, it might be good depending on what u want to make. for hardstyle it sucks, its impossible to make a decent kick, if u want help u cant use the forums because u can only post rps files into the forum and u cant make those using reasing 6, i have a decent pc but the performance of reason 6 is awfull, i cant even play half of the demo's.

i regertet waiting my 400 euros, should have bought a decent daw, and reason isnt a decent daw at all! no wonder no professianals use this!

  • I am thinking about getting this with my christmas money. I love music and want to get into it, and I am only 14. Is it worth it? Does it work for mac? Is it hard to understand? To I need to buy any extras?

  • @Sethmanpie dont waist your money, there are much better daws, it will probably cost u more, reason 6 will cost 400 euro's but in the end u will notice it lacks too much and you willl find you have waisted 400 euro's....just saying... do with it what u want..

  • @HCShuffle We obviously will agree to disagree. :) But if you're having problems with set up, performance, or anything else please reach out to our support guys because they're here to help you. Believe me, getting a decent kick is certainly possible. I just watched a Kill the Noise presentation where he made some seriously amazing kick sound.

  • @PropellerheadSW could u provide me with a link to the presentation ?, i can get kicks out of both the malstrom and thor, but i cant get a hardstyle kick done that pitches well..

  • @HCShuffle yeah about the performance part I dont know if I can agree with you there. from what I know Reason is very efficient IMO. and about the sound quality, change sample rate and you'll most likely get better sound quality.

the thing that bug me is that some tools that are industry standard and must-haves do not exist inside reason.

I honestly cant see the logic in that.

sorry propellerhead, I used to be a loyal user but as I've grown up I've realized that youre not a choice anymore.

  • i have Reason 4 and find it pretty awesome, is this worth the purchase? It seems great, but is it really worth it?

  • @MasterNick182 it is NOT, unfortunately i bought it, buy a decent daw that has decent sound and supports vst's, reason 6 sucks, the performance sucks, the sound sucks, the supplied samples are poor quality, the synths are mediocre and really cant compete with some vst's like access virus, in the end you'll find out reason doesnt deliver, its a vst at best, anything else sucks.

  • distortion logo is a car?

  • i congratulate you guys, this software is amazing i cant get over this program. It has truly changed my life and im only 17 years old thanks propeller-heads <3

  • @RobertoMusicTV wait untill u find out how crap the sound is that comes out of reason, youll probably find out soon enough that the synths cant deliver particular sounds, and that u need another daw to master your track decent.... reason sucks!

  • @HCShuffle thats what rewire is for??

  • @RobertoMusicTV that is my point, why spend 400 euro's on reason if u will need to buy cubase anyway?

  • @HCShuffle great point mate.

  • I just bought Reason 6 minutes ago. HERE I COME!!!!111111

  • whats difference will 64 bit make compared to 32bit?

    Why dont you support VST's?

Its a real hassle to have to bounce every track to then import them into another software because you want to master them with specific VST's. especially when youve found a nice sound in reason.

    Also, your compressor sucks!!!!!!!!

I used to love reason but nowdays I just get angry at it!

Why Propellerhead? Why wont you make reason the music production software in the world? are you guys retards?

  • @DrBloodMusic BTW I've got a secret trick up my sleeve that I'm planning to patent, that involves a very obvious way of DSP for music production softwares which I am VERY VERY surprised over that no company yet so far have patented. very wierd because its so obvious and its been used all the time and even YOU are using it either directly or indirecty right at this moment. (I'm somewhat of a programmer *nerding* :] )

  • @DrBloodMusic what is the point of your trolling, why not actually use this time to make some tunes? People came here to check out Reason and you troll and bash it. Nobody cares about your idea, if its soooo great then stop trolling and go do your idea you noob.

  • @iTimestretcher hey, I'm just criticizing ok. as a programmer myself I know that my customers/partners/users critique is the only voice I have to understand what they want.

Im helping propellerhead to get some insight.

And as a music producer myself, I've used reason for like 6 or 7 years straight, so dont think that I'm "trolling". right now I'm sort of in a love/hate relationship with reason. I love it, but there are alot of features missing.

  • @DrBloodMusic i hear you, i have waisted 5 years on reason to figure out that i need a better daw...basically i wasted 6 years on software that looks good at the start but in the end can't deliver...dont fall for it, get protools or cubase, ableton instead....its way better, if u dont belive me, show me one succesfull pro that uses reason...trust me u wont find a pro using reason...reason is a vst at best....

  • @DrBloodMusic The difference between 32 and 64 bit is the size of RAM available to the program, which directly into the amount of complex sample libraries that can be loaded. We have a long-standing statement about VSTs that you can read to see our position on it. You don't have to bounce tracks to use VSTs, though. You can ReWire audio from Reason to most other DAWs to process them with VSTs if you really want to. We like our compressors (I'm not sure which one you mean since we have a bunch).

  • @PropellerheadSW I mean the compressor called "Compressor".

I also wonder why theres no spectrum analyzer of some sort?

I wonder why your EQ's dont have visualization?

Do you guys know how many features your software lack?

If youre not going to use VST's at least make your own SDK and plugin system so you get a decent market share of the plugin industry. Youre missing out by horselengths.

but then again, maybe other companys patents stop you from implementing certain things to your software?

  • @PropellerheadSW you should revise the standpoint on vst's..its a major flaw in reason.

  • @HCShuffle It's cool and all that you're voicing your opinion, but professionals do use reason. Just a few examples: Nine inch nails, Prodigy, Black Eyed Peas, JR Rotem (who produced for/with 50 cent, snoop dogg, Dr. Dre and others)

  • @PropellerheadSW I love your reply :)

  • @DrBloodMusic becuz they only want to ONE.

  • Check out my reason 6 production /watch?v=tWqzxNS3AlQ

  • Does Reason 6 work well on Windows 7??

  • "Is it out now?"

    NickRohdeTV

    "@NickRohdeTV Yes it is!"

    PropellerheadSW

"Ok Thx i'm going to download it!"

    NickRohdeTV

  • Is it out now?

  • @NickRohdeTV Yes it is!

  • the echo looks well nice, wasn't too fond of the old delay on reason!

  • where can i get the an original copy of Reason 6 in Malaysia?

  • FUCKING GOD..

  • What audio interface would work good with this program and with windows 7???

  • @DrBroskism Well if you're asking US... we think our new Balance interface is a great companion to Reason 6. It supports special features only available through the combination of Balance and Reason 6 like our "clip safe" feature which will save you from an accidental overload, our big on screen meter/tuner, and a great front panel input switcher so you can plug all your gear in once and choose your input in the moment without recabling gear before you can record. Oh and it sounds amazing. :)

  • @PropellerheadSW Awesome. Thanks man!

  • @DrBroskism :any ASIO compatible audio interface support Reason

  • @cgm403 If you're a current Reason user, then all you need is Reason 6 now. It has the audio recording, all the devices, all the features. Everything is in Reason now. For people buying new copies, they could choose Essentials if they don't need some the advanced devices in Reason 6 and want to save some money. But if you're already a Reason user, the upgrade to version 6 will give you everything we have.

  • @cgm403 You can go from 4 to 6 directly. No need to get 5. The upgrade will make any version of Reason, from 1.0 to 5.0, up to date as 6.0.

  • will yamaha dgx640 work well with it? it doesnt have midi in/out but it has a usb out to computer

  • @DoubleMannings Yes that wil work but your other question was about a digital piano with only midi in/out. Do you have both keyboards or are you considering one vs. the other? They both can be set up for Reason quite easily, though.

  • @PropellerheadSW Yes Im considering one vs the other and thanks for replaying. And may I ask one more question, whats difference between usb out and a midi out? Whats the disadvantage of the usb out?

  • sounds very reasonable

  • if i had a line6 POD hd 500 would I be able to use custom presets to record guitar or am I limited to whats available within reason 6 as far as amp models? (I know the 2 are now affiliated)

  • @reveries119 You can load custom amp models made in PodFarm. If your Pod HD500 came with PodFarm then you can load that up, make a custom model, save it, and load it into the Line 6 device in Reason.

  • @PropellerheadSW THANK YOU :-) more of an incentive to upgrade. Why can't I buy reasons AI (Balance) as a stand alone unit. I'm interested in trying it out but already have an mbox 2. From the research ive done, unless im missing something, it comes standard with reason essentials (which im assuming is a watered down version of Reason)

  • @reveries119 It does come with Reason Essentials but you get a free upgrade to Reason 6 if you're a current Reason owner! So rather than buy the upgrade to Reason 6 and then Balance... I'd recommend getting Balance and taking advantage of the free upgrade instead. Plus you can mentally subtract $169 from the price since you don't have to buy the Reason upgrade now. :)

  • @PropellerheadSW understandable, however i already own an mbox2 and am low on cash and credit. Maybe in the future I guess.

  • Great. Remember I was here.Thai 7:40PM 12/5/2011

  • jeez. I didn't get a chance to get Reason 5.

  • @PropellerheadSW do i still have to buy the drum kit refills or does reason 6 already have those??, thanks for your replies..

  • @keironlouoliverb Reason 6 has tons of drum kits in there but the specific Reason Drum Kits ReFill is still a separate product, if that's what you're asking.

  • 2:18, what was she doing with her nintendo DS ? :O

  • @WeepingLyric270 She has the Korg MS20 app on it. :)

  • @PropellerheadSW How do I get it ?

  • @WeepingLyric270 Google "Korg DS-10." The top result is nintendo's site telling you all about it.

  • when is this out...

  • @R3AP3R664 Two months ago man.

  • @endcamp05 digital synthes are limited, they are cheaper to manufacture and this is why true analogue synthes which could have been developed into something epic were abandoned, dont watch video comparisons between analogue to digital synthes, they will only show you the benefits \ half truths about the digital synthes which is just another way of saving \ maximizing benefits for their manufacturers, the analogue synth' only limitation is lower polyphony and thats because...

  • @djomercohen ... that back than their manufacturers thought of the cheapest way to give us what we think that we want in a synth while we could have got alot more and use it for good.

if you make a real life sound comparison between a virus ti2 to a retro (true) analogue synth, you find that it sounds alot better, even if it was manufactured in the 60's.

you can make any type of sound better with an analogue synth.

  • must have

  • WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT

  • Mac is prefered. I DONT FUCKING THINK CHANGING MY WINDOWS

  • @AJlurksnyc yes. record files open up in Reason 6 just fine.

  • question..would i be able to load record files in reason 6?

  • reason is nice, but its only a software, it will never sound or be as versatile as true analogue \ digital hardware, the only synth that i know thatis not worth buying over reason is the Virus ti which sounds like a software but with a very good sound card that you can buy and give reason its sound.

dont make my mistake, dont buy the virus ti \ ti2, buy its sound card and use it instead, even if it is more comfortable to use than a software vsti, if you want a hardware synth go for analogue.

  • Oh yeah... It's 64-bit. <3

  • Propellerhead must;ve known they'd end up doing this. Moulding Record and Reason into one.

    Excellent software though.

  • Which should I use Reason 6 or Fl Studio?

  • @LewisAndClarxxx

Try This Load Reason 6 In FL Studio Via Rewire

  • Tremendous software. It's just a pity my mixing and mastering "skills" don't match my level of addiction lol :D

  • Comment removed

  • Can I use my MPC with reason6, looking to add to my music but some say Logic 9 others say live 8 but I think Reason looks sweet, help me out here guys what do u think???

  • Can you add differnt vst's to reason just like ableton and logic? For instance I have the three software Vintage Compressors and Massive from Native instruments can I utilize them into Reason?

  • My 7 year old loves playing with the effects on Virtual DJ he is gonna go crazy with this: 2:08 ...time to find my guitar center credit card! , shit my wife cut it in a thousand pieces :-(
