Yes Metallica are legendary (pre Black album), but there are a lot of NWOBHM bands that started it all and have not got any of the credit tat they deserve. I'm a die hard Megadeth and Metallica fan but also grew up listening to the NWOBHM before. Megadeth (my favorite Metal band of all time) and Metallica (a close second) copied a lot of these bands. The are basically the "back pack" of what the NWOBHM already did.
@qu7aker No way it's a goodbye, Metallica is the kind of band that would announce a goodbye tour. This was to celebrate, not to say goodbye, but celebrate everything they've achieved in these 30 years. They've atleast gotten another good 5 years left in them.
@Kingtallica I think millions of people agree that they are the greatest band ever, they revolutionized music forever. Everything that a band from today came from something Metallica had done or a band that was influenced by Metallica
Metallica aren't in the running for Greatest Metal Band... That's been settled, they are. Now they're in the running for Greatest Band Ever ...and just maybe
i know what the big announcement is going to be,they are going to do
a world tour with u2.
