just had to say this... been in a hostel for 2 weeks in Paris, in my bedroom there was this old guy, could have Jim's age actually (if he was still alive), and he kept saying for the entire 2 weeks he was Jim Morrison. Too old to be a backpacker, too young to let the memories go. /no he was no kidding, actually meant it... poor crazy dude.
@GrimbleGrumble81 I think that there are alot of lost souls out there who believe they are somebody famous. I have met a few Jim morrisons. a couple of Jesus's and a number of Satans as well. Well you must have at least gone to see Jims grave then?????
911 shaman you are wrong, they are worth every penny. The Doors are one of the very few big bands that have never sold their music to promote products/ads. So they are most rightous when it comes to be as non corporate as you can get. If by corporate you mean selling items to promote their band ex. tshirts etc.then whatever.Ofcourse there is going to be a charge for buying their music but if you want some for free then download Limewire and take it for free like many others do. The Doors are #1!
You see, Rick, the reference to the song title refers to this guy named Jim Morrison. And he sang in a band that got rich and famous. So the singer, this guy Morrison then went off to Paris & died in a bath tub at the age of 27. Maybe you were too young to have heard of the Doors, Jim's band. I'm Not one to shill for these corporate rock bands like the Doors franchise, but check them out. Preferably a bootleg off the web. Save your money. You have to work & go to school & pay rent, laddy.
I'm going to assume it's to do with the fact that a lot of avid Doors fans don't think Jim really died, the circumstances of his death were strange and only a very small number of people saw the body so people hope he faked his death.
I took acid and it was the most mystic state I have ever known in this life, but now I am dead

It's not a swipe at Jim Morrison, I doubt. It's just their tendancy to write really odd song titles.
"Scotland's Shame", on the other hand, is aimed at the bigoted fans of Rangers FC in their home city of Glasgow
