I like the poem . Its honest. I also add music to poems because I sing as well and I know how hard it is to not let the music take over the sound. But if you listen hard enough you can hear the poem. I'd like for people to tell me if my music is too loud but I guess with time and practice you get the balance right. I'm still working it out myself.... :)
Beautiful!!! I am very drawn to poems that discuss and express our path in life, what we have done so far and at least what is left to do. I find a lot in common in all of your poems, philosophical self-questioning.......
i like it, like it a lot, BUT i want to be honest and say - the music at the same time helps and takes away from th epoem. it relaxes the listener a littl etoo much and does therefore than just set the mood. but i like the poem and also the footage of the journey, only it is a little to long.
Brava! Brava! Encore! Genius! Superb! Your best yet. The power of the language is among the best ever written...and I speak truly. Indeed, the greats are better--they always will be than us. But still, one day you will be the greats and this will be of the great poems I think. And the footage and the music just set the mood.
Stef. Thanks for another great video. You always know how to construct words in a way that make your audience think in a way that they hadn't before ... Kudos
I am sorry it took me so long to reply to this. I've been so busy! You are not too critical at all. Your opinion would mean much less if you were not honest. Thank you my friend.
I agree, it was easy to get a bit lost and it WAS very old fashioned. Haha, then again I am old fashioned myself. It was definitely an experiment, writing a poem so long. It was what was there at the time, if that makes sense, when I started it and it took a lot to bring it to a conclusion.
You have just made a journey across America packed full of sights and incidents, there must be a hundred poems in such a journey. I'd like to hear about the people, the greyhound busses, the scenery, the boredom and the joy of such a journey. Now that would be a poem.
Gosh poetess what was that? It sounded like something Jane Ayre would have written to Mr Rochester. With all the coming and going I got quite lost. In the poem you decide not to dwell on the past; GOOD only the present and the future are worth a candle, too much introspection is bad for you.
I really like the part where you say "the pleasure lies around each bend"....and just then, the mountain passes, the camera kinda pans down and you can see the river alongside the road...very good
Whoa.. the most masterfully constructed and delivered video on the livingpassion channel for SURE. Especially if all that video capture was yours. And what about the piano? Is that you? Your mom? That's amazing. Absolutely amazing. I actually don't know what to say because it's just.. wow.
Oh, and the poem was great too :P I'm sorry, I caught myself rambling. I do that often. Seriously though, wow. I was truly riveted, captivated, spellbound and immersed in the awesomeness that is this video. Good work! This should be featured.
I WISH the piano was me... alas I have never learned to play. :( It's actually from a collection of royalty free music. The video was taken with my webcam onto my laptop while on the bus to salt lake haha. Anyway, thank you Dave my friend. :)
Woo! Stef's finally online when I am! Hey, I talked to your mom the other week (yeah, that's a little bit creepy.. sorry), and she told me that the laptop automatically logs you into MSN. That can be disabled, you know. It's in tools/options, on the General tab. Uncheck "Allow automatic sign in when connected to the Internet". :)
Haha, well I was on for a minute while you were anyway. Yea, I can disable it I just never got around to doing it for my mom's... I don't even know when I ever signed in on there. And my mom is technically inept haha.
You, my friend, are quite wise beyond your years and exceptionally talented. Even at twice your age (okay, twice plus a couple) I sometimes need to be reminded of the simple truths contained in these words. Thank you.

I hope this isn't too critical. Because I value your friendship I'll try always to tell you what I really think. You can always savage my next poem.

the wisdom reflecting in your words so eloquently phrased, yet again puts me in awe and wonder.
i am glad that you heart that voice of wisdom and were able to retrace your path back to the point where the true path was left.

Ah, I just checked the bottom of the description and realized that it's not your music. Oh well! It's still absofantabuloustastically brilliant.
