  • It is used to pump concrete down into an underground Mine to fill in areas where they have mined out. Water was leaking into it heavily which was diluting their concrete. They wanted to know where it was entering in order to know where to go to fix it.

  • What is the point of this hole

  • It was interesting to see for me as I am used to seeing wide aquifers with a lot more water at only relatively shallow depths in softer shale country.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • last minute - have a psylocibe with this watching...

  • let the camera fall down the hole

  • No diamonds? oh wait thats no minecraft

  • Thumbs up if you skiped most of it too the end

  • what is the purpose of such a hole and how do you maintain it from not caving in, collapssing and such??

  • Just something vibrating on the reel when we pay out cable. I don't know what exactly.

  • wahts that noise

  • This hole is 1000ft deep. It runs from 500 level to 1500 level. The diameter is only 8". This is in a mine in Sudbury Ontario.

The "X" that Bubblewubble161 is referring to is only two water inlets that happen to have enough pressure to shoot across the hole, so there was really no obstacle to overcome. (Like star67 pointed out)

  • how did u get throught that x in 5:31-5:51?

  • @bubblewubble161 Well...that is a "water-X"......

  • @staf67 oh

  • @bubblewubble161 1000ft

  • is this the hole that will save the miners in chile?
