@eepruls I disagree. I prefer endings that are more realistic. Lost was good, he died. It wasnt the unoriginal ending of good wins over bad, he just dies. Its human. Boston legal left on this 'they all lived happily ever after' note. I would much preferred to see the complete demise of Denny, losing it to 'mad cow', and Alan having to deal with the situation. But thats just me.

it wasn't david's choice to end it, they had declining ratings so the network figured they should cancel it, even though the demographic was educated and wealthy people which is a hard demographic to target.

Not true, they still had good enough ratings, that isn't a good excuse for ABC. And stop this bull about the viewers being "educated and wealthy", the show had all kinds of viewers.

ABC didn't care about the show, they didn't make a lot of money, so they didn't advertise it enough. And they kept changing the time slots too, and if they had to move a show to make room for something on that night, it was BL...

BL had enough viewers, the critics and the people loved it, ABC just killed the show. :(

@quiksilviana The rich aren't influenced by advertising like the majority. They CREATE the need FOR advertising. The working poor are who fund the businesses, (buying things they think they need but actually don't, due to advertisements) wasting their money to make businesses richer. What they want to see means diddly. Ordinary people have no control over programming, regardless of how much money they spend on advertised G & S. It has ALWAYS been royalty & the wealthy who control entertainment.

And I disagree with the republican guy below; as far as I know the show had a very high audience, even with the constant undermining. Like 10-11 million, right? It means you don't need to be wealthy and so well educated to be able to think high, I guess. Myself, I'm educated through public schools and I'm very far from wealthy, and I'm not even American, and I love this show.

You should rethink your ideas, and understand why people eliminated classes in the French Revolution.

It was too much subversion, too much high thinking; it bothered some people in the power.

Such a shame that the freedom of speech on the media is just a beautiful idea, and not a respected right. And I say it in general because it happens also here, and I guess in every single democratic country. When some people rise their voice, even in the form of a succesful and genious format as Boston Legal, critizicing things that go against the very same human dignity, it just gets pulled under water.

I'm from Spain and since I discovered this series I try to not miss any chapter. It's amazing how the social and political problems on debate in the show can be perfectly applied to the situation, particularly of my country, but I'm sure in any western democracy.

I can understand why the channel sabotaged and eventually cancelled the show. I understood it even more the day I watched the chapter where they say America has not really any kind of democracy, but a tirany with two options.

the sad thing, is that BL had the most well educated (and therefore wealthy) fan following of any show on television. which was the problem because that means viewership is going to be low. after all most people are not well-educated and wealthy.

Boston Legal was an excellent show. It was a wonderful escape from all the reality shows out there. Sadly now that's ended, relatity is what people will be subjected to watch.

My thought on reality television is, if I wanted so badly to view reality, I'd look out my window. Fiction is the only thing that keeps minds growing, exposing us to what is possible, instead of what already is possible.
