  • good comparison and a fair one. I have the Tamron again I bought it due to cost.....plus i have it on the Sony A77 so the stabalization isnt a problem.

    Thanks for the review

  • I hope u knew the owner of that house otherwise that woulda looked weird if they saw you ;D

  • the bug rested on your left shoulder

  • Nice Video ! i'am thinking of buy a 70-200 F2.8 one....But i am not sure that how Tamron or Sigma like..

    Now i knew ! Thank you !

  • Thanks for the comparison. I am looking out to buy new lense and this time I would like to go for better lense on f2.8. Just a question: does the tamron 70-200mm f2.8 has VC?

  • @yogi5573 no

  • i very much appreciate the reviews. Helps out alot and its great that you take the time to do this. Really helps. one little thing i was thinking, not trying to sound negative, but i did have a slight thought you may be a little lenient toward the nikon. But maybe thats just me. Canon and nikon do tend to have the better lens anyways

  • @CreativeOrgin fair observation - I do prefer the Nikon - it is the best in every regard other than price.

  • @rodbell4 cheers

  • This video as well as Part 1 were great. Everything you put out is professional. Keep up the good work.

  • Love these comparison videos. So detailed and extensive The Nikon is the king of the hill but the Sigma is surprisingly close :) Thanks, Matt :)

  • @JanErikEdvartsen my pleasure, glad you like them.

  • Great , it is really usefull , thanks alot ,

  • Thanks for the good work

  • oops that should have said " to know nothing" or better still " to not know anything". One drink to many. Anyway you are welcome.

  • @mstbnutts :) no worries - is a weekend!

  • Hi Matt. I normally don't write posts on youtube but after reading the horrible, negative and rude comments that have been left on here I felt compelled to say THANKS! I for one as someone who professes to not know nothing about photography but would love to know more and is just starting out, enjoys watching the videos you post. Along with many others I'm sure, really appreciate the time and effort you take to post these clips. I find them informative and interesting. Keep up the great work

  • @mstbnutts Thank you - is refreshing to get a nice comment. Enjoy the channel.

  • For God's sake, a professional photographer shooting a sign? A sign left in the weather amongst the bird poo etc? What sort of fool are you? At least use a fineline studio test. Don't you have a real photographic education? Why isn't there ever a real model on these reviews and why don't you have one single commercial client listed at mattgrangerdotcom. Your a sad fake coming here because youve got too much time on your hands but no real work. Go away, stop letting people waste thier money.

  • @Barnyrubbleism thanks for taking the time to watch and comment on so many of my videos - and for your concern about my business! (Things are going great btw) Clearly you would prefer I list previous clients on the website, and use models in my reviews instead of objects. Unfortunately, I don't do that. Generally I don't do head to head lens comparisons when it would take up others time as well as my own.

I hope you don't mind I copy the same response onto all of your comments.

  • @thatnikonguy My respect for you just rose through the roof, I love it when these things happen :D

  • @MrLouisBrooks Thanks MLB - what did I do? Something in the video?

  • @thatnikonguy The video was great, but it's more about how you handled "Barnyrubbleism".

  • @MrLouisBrooks ah gotcha, well thank you.

  • I can't see the difference... not even at 1080p.

  • The Nikon kills both off-brand lenses, but remember, the third parties are about a third of the price.

  • I've been debating between the Sigma OS vs non-OS for a while now.. I think that the OS version's quality is superb considering it's price. Thank you for taking the time to put this review together.Well done!

  • @STEPPHAN7 great!

  • I this new Sigma fast enough for continuous AF?

Looking forward to the part 3 ;)

  • @player1CR part 3 is live, 4 coming soon.

  • Great video. Thanks a lot for the wonderful comparison.

  • Very cool videos, thank yo for sharing, What I see, is that the Sigma looks pretty close to the Nikon and 1000$ of savings makes it a very viable option for a serious enthusiast a standard tele zoom with IS/OS, I am glad. My only concern was your comment while shooting the reception that the Sigma hesitated on focusing in low light a couple of times, no doubt that if you are a Pro photographer making serious money you should go for the Brand lens, but still the Sigma looks very appealing.

  • @borism68 fairly true, yes. Part three coming soon, and maybe a pt four on low light and difficult focusing.

  • @borism68 if your a photogapher making any money you should go for the best you can buy because your not just paying for a name your paying for the optics, color, detail, edge to edge sharpness,CA and VA build quility any much more. you have to see the full res images to really tell the difference. but if your just showing your images on facebook, youtube or flicker and not doing any prints then i guess there is no need to spend the money

  • @bwinn10 excellent tip billy.

  • i love your videos even though i am a canon shooter i still love to watch your vids. I do have a question though. maybe i am missing something or it hasn't uploaded yet but i can't find the part three to the videos.

  • @southernblood82 glad to hear. Part three is not up yet.will be in the next week, I'm still testing.

  • 4:27 the bug in your glasses landed on your sleeve!

  • @iamravenous cheeky...

  • Thanks Matt! Glad you are reviewing these lenses actually. I am a Canon shooter and the video is still relevant to me.

  • @iamravenous glad to hear it.

  • Great job Matt!

  • Thanks Matt, great show! The wind doesn't seem to have an impact on your test. I want to buy a 70-200mm 2.8 for my sportphotography. Is the Sigma good enough for fast moving people?

  • @hjr0412 they will ask be fine for sports.

  • I love the idea of a part 3... if you haven't already completed part 3 can you do a comparison on focus speed (if it focuses at all) in a low light situation. Maybe just in your home with one light (low or dim light) behind the camera and a still object. Thank you and awesome job!!! I love that you been very consistent with uploading new videos multiple times a week and sometimes multiple ones in a day. This is the #1 channel on my youtube subscriptions.

  • @omnseks thanks, ghats great to hear. Loire light focusing sounds like a good part four!

  • very nice sir Matt, i learned a lot of stuff from your videos, thanks and God bless you.

  • @mhonski25 my pleasure

  • Matt, you rock! Your videos are always informative without being too 'inside the beltway,' as they say here in the States. Keep 'em coming! Would love, when you have time/inclination, to see a review of the Leica tri-elmart 16-18-21. A unique lens I'd love to hear your thoughts on. Cheers!

  • @greenophotography cheers, will do my best. Meeting leica next week, will see about that lens

  • very nice Matt, looking forward to see the bokeh test.

    Cheers Jack

  • @Opatije pleasure. Bokeh coming within a week.

  • Awesome videos! Thanks for making these.

  • @sexualburgerking thanks mate, glad to help. please share them around.
