If It Wasn't For The Nights was done on the MIKE YARWOOD SHOW 1978. Agnetha looks from side to side as she sings "staring at the wall." As part of a comedy bit, they imitate their host's sissified catch phrases. Agnetha says she is exhausted from playing the piano since she was six. She is irresistible on Thank You For The Music as she winks and points to her head, pouring it on with the golden hair.
This is so good I had to keep reminding myself that this wasn't really Larry. It's so different from his Jimmy Saville British Rail advert sketch in 1981 where Mike rushes through reading from autocue cards and is total crap.
I can remember watching this! (Probably at the time wearing my ABBA T-Shirt, ABBA scarf and ABBA necklace...bought from the Official Fan Club at the time...and yes...I still own them!)
"Everard" !!!! and "Oo...i could crush a Grape" Ha ha You godda Love Larry Grayson !! "Shut That Door"!!....Mike Yarwood Fab...! :)) Lovin' all this..!
Pretty good, very funny !!! and i love ABBA here on MIKE YARWOOD, they are fantastic and so beautiful!! Great video and congratulatins!! hugs from KIKO
mike yarwood cannot be touched by anyone to date. His talent is missed on tv greatly but it was his decision i wish there was some more to see on youtube.
ABBA... you are so wonderful in that show esp. Bjorn and Agnetha....... they are so cute! love Agnetha's purple glittery costume and i like Bjorn more because his outfit.. he is like a cute boy there....

A monumentally insipid impressionist/'comedian' pretending to be an overly-camp Larry Grayson with a hideously intrusive canned laughter track to deparately prop it all up. It just doesn't get any worse!
What a fine comedian! He based this sketch on gay innuendos and so funny is it! I remember this stuff as a child, mom and dad sitting down to watch it and never missing it from week to week. I loved it as a child and only now can understand the pure talent this bloke has. Thanks to my mom and dad for watching this stuff and helping me to understand comedy.
Wonderful and funny:D Mike seems pretty drawn to Frida in the beginning of the show:D Can not blame him, she is pretty hot in that costume:D Thank you Abba for all good childhood memories, I think you are a fantastic group!
Is Mike Yarwood still going? If so, who thinks he should host a new series of the Generation Game as Larry? If Paul O'Grady can host Blankety Blank in character, then why shouldn't Mike be able to do something similar?
In the mid-1990s, Yarwood had the chance to return to the stage as prime minister John Major, but failed to re-establish himself before Major's premiership ended. He claimed that one of the difficulties in impersonating John Major and Tony Blair was that they were 'nice guys'. In 1999, he underwent treatment for depression at the Priory Clinic, Roehampton.
His joke that Frida "can wear blue" is interesting; she probably would not want her and Agnetha's colors to get reversed. People with red hair often avoid reds and pinks. I knew a woman with bright red hair, and when she was growing up, she was not allowed to wear red, pink, or purple.
He says 'I loved you in Crossroads'. Crossroads was a popular British soap opera on TV from the 1960's to the 1980's. It was set in a motel and one of its most popular characters was called Benny, a simpleton in a wooly hat who was employed as an odd-job man. 'Crossroads' was revived briefly a few years ago, minus Benny.
Probably the funniest ABBA clip I've ever seen. :D This is on the just released ABBA The Album Remastered DVD extra. Killer! Thanks for the smiles. Peace!

mike yarwood always mimicked people with love and respect, talk of sexual bias etc. is bollocks!
l344240 1 year ago
I don't think a comedian could mock a gay man like that nowadays.
Cool2BCeltic 1 year ago
@Cool2BCeltic He isn't mocking him, he is impersonating him. If you watch the real Larry Grayson, he has him to a "T".
