@2handle2hard Dude... I used to be a packer in my younger days when square parachutes were HUGE. The rigs were HUGE. And we didn't have BOCs then. I still jump a huge parachute but Im old and decrepid now so it takes me a little longer to pack but it lands me nice and soft.. I used to be able to do 100 rigs in a day. These little things they call canopies today function no matter how good you pack so Im glad Im not packing for others anymore.
We all try to look manly but our jumpsuits can get a little funny looking sometimes. Especially if the wife picks out the colors. Glad I'm not married....
I can pack a chute in about 10 minutes. It varies from rig to rig, parachute to parachute and person to person. I think the pretty young girl you are talking about is Petra. She is our drop zone masseuse and Air Trash Cheer Leader... :)
"I get the impression he's packed that chute more than once. :-)"
He's had that main chute for about a year or so now. That is the only thing he didn't replace because it is a good main. Everything else is new including the helmet and jump suit.
The Dolphin Rig is a very comfy rig and when I replace mine next year it will be the same. I'm really the one who talked him into getting it. About half the price of most other containers and just as safe and more comfy than most.
We all have two parachutes on our back. THe reserve chute is on top. The main parachute is on the bottom. If the main parachute fails we cut it away and pull the reserve. If that doesn't work you put your head between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye... :)
10min?? I'll do it in 3.5 for u :)
