Ed Wood is one of the most important figures in film history. His style of movie making should not be ridiculed. If only he got the Oscar he rightly deserved. The worst director of all time? Shit no. Ed was a truly great director and truly ahead of his time. Imagine how hard it must have been to finance an independent picture in the fifties, with all these big studios taking over. Ed pulled it off. To this day we still talk about him, and his movies.
Great matching of shots from the Burton film with Wood's actual work. You have beautifully highlighted Tim Burton and Johnny Depp's admiration for Ed Wood and for Wood's quirky films and Martin Landau's moving, Oscar-winning tribute to Bela Lugosi. Your well done edit reveals the wonderful artistry of Burton's entire cast and crew in capturing one of the greatest tributes of one filmmaker to another. Great work!
the nice thing about Ed Wood is that he gave the opportunity to Bela, to be in the movies again. He paid him, Bela didn't had a job, and again- he saw interesting people like Criswell, Tor Johnson or Vampira and shot them in his movies. Such an interesting personalities and he gave them the opportunity to be in the movie. Basicly everyone could get a major role in his movie if they wanted. If he would lived now maybe they would see him as a excentric and interesting director.
I recently read Rudolph Grey's Nightmare of Ecstasy and was amazed at the scope of Ed Wood's talent as a writer, actor, director, producer. It's a disgrace how he was treated at the end of his life: thrown out in the street with his health failing. At least his work is being appreciated today and his place in cinematic history is secure. eddie R.I.P.

I still say Martin Landau gave Bela Lugosi his Oscar by proxy!

Excellent excellent job. This tribute shows real affection for Ed Wood where a lot of other tribute videos tend to be a bit tongue in cheek.

I know it was a writing team that wrote it. They went on to do a lot more biography type movies.

Bela Lugosi looks more like Henry Gibson than Martin Landau.

Great. The only better honor for Edward the Great would be the posthumous Oscar that he richly deserves.
