I get a real kick out of this song. It is played in the style of the Acadian fiddle that you also hear in Louisiana as well as Canada. All in all, I love The Irish Descendents and wouldn't I love to spend some real time in Newfoundland.
God love CaptainZaltan-you tried to come across all educated but ended up a complete Sad act-you have your own culture with irish roots-well then you are not irish as you have your own culture-my country-Ireland-well we have roots all over the place but you know there is only one Ireland and also only one newfoundland-so these are guys doing a good parody style job of an irish inspired song so really i am correct-Need i say more:
@MrTwisterband I too have Irish along with African roots as well, but i am an American. I am proud of my roots as well as this band is proud of their's, Irish Descendants. just because they are not from Ireland dosnt mean they dont understand the Irish culture.i am pretty sure that there parents helped them keep their Irish culture.you can here it in their music. dont hate on them for not being born in Ireland.you should respect them for keeping the Irish culture with their music
This is for bigman1916-Sorry you are so subnormal that the only language you could use in reply to my comment were expletives-you see-the song itself is quite a good one but it is just really a parody of many great irish songs-and how do i know this-Because i am an irishman who has lived all his life in ireland and not a so called irish descendant-not only that -i am a musician raised on tunes like the masons apron -real trad men would piss themselves were it played so badly at a session:
@MrTwisterband Also, no-one really gives a damn where you're from. Or what the Irish would think of this. Growing up in Ireland doesn't give you a superior taste in music. Irish descendants aren't envious of the Irish; I have no idea where you got that notion. We have our own culture, with Irish roots. That's being celebrated here. I guess you thought playing the "I'm Irish!" card would win you some respect here. But no...you really just sound like a troll.
@MrTwisterband The band is called 'The Irish Descendants'. Not "The Irish". The name is self explanatory. The band is from Newfoundland, which has a strong link to Ireland culturally and genealogically. Much of our music and folklore came from Ireland, and have merged with other settler influences to create something unique. If you don't like it, that's fine. But don't insult it because it's not 'irish'. No-one said it was, and quality isn't dependent on nationality. Wanker's? Idiot.
im pissed off at the person who put the song on because they could have put in a pic of the old irish decendants who r singin this song not a bunch of tools standin up wit there arms around each other!
The line: "She's as neat around the waist as a cow around the middle" is best of all:)

Um, they have a new line-up like every week! Also, that's Graham Welles in the middle, and he's one of the best accordion players in the province.

Wow, way to be passive agressive. How about contributing by correcting the mistakes. Seriously.
Grumble, grumble...
