i was in merced for my cousins funeral a couple years back and that town is scary, it looks like a ghost town, cemeteries everywhere, but then again i'm from a big city so that explains.

merced, is not really a ghost town, and cemeteries arent everywhere.. probably you stayed or visited the ghetto side of merced.. thats where the cemeteries are at.. but if u go to where the white pple live, its not really scary... thenorthern part of merced... but the merced hmong new year, is right next door to the cemetery.. its rite next to the soccer field.. SCARY

past years, they have been some gang fighting and shooting as well. In 2004, one of my cousin was shoot as a bystander from gang shooting. Luckily, she was not seriously hurt because the bullet didn't hit any vital part. So they check everyone now, except for elderly people, to ensure a safer new year for everyone. How's the New Year in Australia? Also, Happy New Year from a Hmong in USA ^_^

sure did, but I don't blame the food venders for the pricey foods. The stall fee was really expensive this year too. I over heard a conversation from one of the venders, and he said it costs a thousand something for his stall. That's epensive fee for a four days.
