I have a problem, my specs are: Geforce 250 gts, 6g ram, intel core2 duo cpu, E8400 @3.00GHz, which is more than enough to play even most modern games, however, whenever i play barbarian invasion, it lags in battle (even small ones) to around 10-15 fps. anyone know why this is?

@thewilliam206 Are you running this in Windows 7? Try running the game in compatibility mode... Right click on the shortcut icon, select properties>compatibility>Check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for">choose a previous OS from the list. Windows Vista SP2 should work, if not try Windows XP SP3.

go to the control panel go to uninstall program, then go to medieval 2 total war and press uninstall on the top, then after its done uninstalling just pop the disk in and install it again

@rkhale02 have done this 3 times. have also uninstalled and deleted all traces from ever folder in my harddrive. Still doesnt do the trick. I believe somehow the CD has become curropted/thus the game

In campaign I'm the Egyptians and i was just wondering very quickly if at any point in the game the Roman Families(Scipii,Brutii,Julii) will ever attack eachother or declare war etc etc. i just wanna know if they will ever fight or are they programmed to stay allies forever

@keanucange slingers are affective against armor. they are better than peltasts if you meen by armor penetration.for example try attacking a sacred band with peltasts and slingers

if you want to play as defender in custom scenario, there is a shield while choosing faction, u have to click on it so its turn green to play as defender

Nice job...but on a harder difficulty woulda been alot harder to rout them and without the AI any true warrior would know cavalry makes a brilliant counter-balance to the weak part of your line. Which was the left side on the roman side. So that whole left side woulda been routed before you got your troops in the main gate without too many roman casualties then I would have proceeded with all my legions at the gate and cavalry supporting the left.

AI as always plays like a spaz. Couple of units of missile units say 8 or so, a few good infantry, and when attacking a fort with not too large a garisson winning is usually easy. You learn to exploit the ai's stupidity!

wrong. they were often inferior in numbers. see cesar's campaigns for example: in the battle of Alesia 60000 romans and auxiliaries attacked on 2 fronts at the same time won against 330000 gauls. and there are a lot more examples.
