Truly incredible! The definition of a real musical masterpiece. The guitar solo (Mick Box) was easily one of the best in its day and still tops most 40 years later. And the bass lines (Paul Newton) were right there too. Uriah Heep would go on to have even greater success but I don't think they ever topped this one. Sadly, they are seldom remembered today...
It's something from the Heaven... I always wonder how can simple human create this? Harmony, inspiration and maybe the time was right for them... Nothing add... it's forever...
I know they are not Led Zeppelin and not really fashionable - and I do Love Led Zep - but Plant/Page & co never wrote anything like this. I remember Ken Hensley commenting in the sleeve notes from the original album how the orchestra and the band "grooved" together. He was so right - the whole song just drives along at such an incessant pace and sweeps you up with it (and after years of practice, I can do such a great air guitar of Mick Box's solo!!)
Forever I admire this theme. (I aproach the moment to quest: ¿have you had some problems with copyrights and YouTube Madhitchhiker? I had to erase all my simple videos made on Window's Movie Maker...maybe for contain several images and not one, like in this case (the Lp. cover).
Totally awesome song.. superb LP from 'Heep..love the brass..the bass..awesome vocals from DB..cool flutes..organ from Ken..Mick's guitar..so much packed into one song..and the lyrics wow..the cover..it just doesn't end!
@newellgirl Ken Hensley is the crowned king of romantic lyrics and Mick Box is the crowned king of guitar playing and in this song he actually made the electric guitar cry can you imagine. I was always a Uriah Heep fan and an Apple computers fan, guess I was all my life a cult follower. It seems I was always right

I was born in the 60s so was a teenager in the 70s, We were so spoiled for seeing great bands it was ridiculous. Slade, Quo, Heep, Zep, Queen, Lizzy, Genesis, Rainbow, Nazareth, Gallagher, Styx, The Who, Purple, Fleetwood Mac, ACDC, Budgie, Santana, UFO, Sabbath, Van Halen, Kate Bush, Elton John, BB King the list is endless and all at your local Odeon or Town Hall. You are so right, the 70s were marvellous for music. KOR BM
May Almighty God Blessed Them All. They make me happy. Ameen.

To me this is till now on stil the very best music ever composed. Its not pop, not rock... its beyond anything. Mozart would have loved it.
