Awesome! Gonna go make this now. Neighbor gave me two huge cabbages. Now I need to find a recipe for the other one and three-quarter cabbages! LOL Thank you.
Hi Manjula.. this video is very good. I really do not know cooking that well..but i tired ur recipe and it turned out to be very good.. thanks for sharing this with us.. looking forward to ur other receipes.. :)
we tired making this dish and it was great but we are having trouble making them stay together when frying. can give me some tips? more flour? smaller chopped pieces of cabbage? its really good, please give advice.
I made this tonight! Fantastic! Manjula the written recipe says 2 cups of cabbage and you say 4 cups of cabbage at the beginning of the video. I used a little over 2 cups and it made about a dozen dumplings, is that right? I wasn't sure how the ratio of the other ingredients affected the texture of the dumplings if there were 2 or 4 cups. They were delicious anyway! My husband was impressed!
I just made this and WOW! It's a keeper! Next time I will know to just go ahead and shred the cabbage in the food processor. I tried to do it by hand first, and it just wasn't fine enough to release it's water like it should have. I also decided to use canned tomato puree and while it was ok, I think it would have been better to use the fresh tomatoes. Next time I know. Even at that, it's still very good. Thank you Aunti Manjula!!!!!!
manjula, thanks so much for this awesome recipe! i made it vegan and it was STILL delicious, am so grateful for your recipes, they help me not eat so much animal products because even when i omit them, the food still is delicious
I noticed the typed out RECIPE amount is slightly different from the one spoken in the video. Which one is correct? I want to make this recipe. Thanks.
@kjygyrl i made it with 2 cups cabbage, and just eye balled it on the gram flour...everything else i did as she said in vid, ommitted the yogurt; it was plenty for me and another and delicious!
Hello Aunty ! I keep trying ur recepies! This is one of them and my cabbage kofta turned out awesome thanks to u! :) All my family members enjoyed and my mother told say thanks to you speacially :)!!
Thanks once again and keep showing such amazing videos!
thank u for the vid! it looks soooo good!! I was looking for a cabbage kofta dish with tomato sauce. I first ate it at a vegetarian restaurant. are there any substitutes for the yogurt??
this is great, ive wanted to way cut down on meat for so long, but im not familiar with alot of veggie cooking, plus indian food is my favorite..this is wonderfull.
Your recipes delight and inspire me! I can't wait to try this one. Can I use a coleslaw blend without any dressing in place of the cabbage? It is just green cabbage, red cabbage and carrots.
I made this today and it turned out great! I have already tried some of your dishes just because you always make things easy. Thank you so much auntyji.
thats rt yes i saw she doesnt use garlic or onion bt without that i tried to make it bt no garlic ginger tomato n onion to any gravy r a must have things to make the gravies taste awesome n delicious.
Yes you can steam them check video recipe for muthia. if you are steaming the dumplings then after adding them in gravy dont cook for long otherwise thay will break.
Thank you aunty for this wonderful recipe. I will certainly try it out this weekend. One suggestion - why dont you also add the link to your website in the information box. Else each time I see your recipe, I also like to read your blog - with a link maybe more people would enjoy your site.
I love your videos Manjula...you look like a really nice lady and I love your accent. I want to come to your house and have you cook for me and all my friends. ha ha ;)
Thank you Manjula and husband for this recipe. My mouth is watering now. I wonder how your husband could resist eating your cooking when he is filming!!
Manjula Aunty follows Jain religion and thus does not use garlic. you can try the gravy with garlic as well and not add the asofotedia. it goes better with ginger.
Hi Manjulaji.. Nice recipe..Thanks a lot.. I make similar preparation for Dudhi Kofta.
I have one question... How do you always get such a fine shredded cabbage.. Do you use any shredder or food processor??? I always find it difficult to cut the cabbage and it actually discourage me eating it :-(
I had the same thought - It must be a food processor that makes the cabbage so fine. Im hoping to hear the answer too :). Im so excited about this recipe!
I love your videos, and it's wonderful to have been the first to view this one. I can't wait to try your recipes for my girlfriend Rupa, she is vegetarian 3 days a week and says 'table-e-spoon' just like you do. So cute.
Looks wonderful, I cannot wait to try.

This looks fantastic, and it has no meat product in it, that's a double plus, but I have some reservations about this dish, how spicy is this?
Germans don't have the ability such as Mexicans or Indians for Hot food, would this burn me a new rear end?

she also does not cook with onions if you have noticed..
as per hindu religion, onion & garlic is "taamsik food" which isnt conducive to pure thinking and mind..
i am sure jain's also have similar explanation about this..

Followers of Jainism dont belive in harming or insulting other living beings either directly or indirectly through others.
cultivation of vegetables like garlic which grow under the soil may harm insects or other living beings who lives mostly below the surface of earth.
Thats my understanding, there might be other reasons like smell etc.
