  • @kenndrummer haha

  • 伝統,フリーもこなした、マルチ・リード奏者、ユーゼフ・ラティーフ、インパルスでの淡麗なフルート盤、そしてこのピアノが超若きヒュー・ローソンとは?! #jazzm

  • free earl

  • @479rodrigo how dare you slander this piece with that odd future garbage.

  • @kenndrummer who cares

  • sublime.

  • squidward

  • The Best ....

  • this is like the first video ive seen with no dislikes in like a year

  • Really lovely flute playing. Appropriately titled - Yusef Lateef is pure gold

  • Yusef Lateef is a master's master. A single note from him carries more meaning and power than thousands of notes from others.

I met him, and attended a master class he taught. He is a truly beautiful person.

  • I love this piece, it always restores my spirit. thank you for posting.

  • Lateef can be both hypnotic and romantic at the same time. He may not be as famous as some, but he holds a special place in the Jazz World. His Oboe, Flutes, classical awareness and sensitivity make him like Ahmad Jamal, soothing but never boring. Gently adventurous. Thanks!

  • very relaxing and treveling music

  • Nice Music, it speak to me, thank's

  • "MonkeyIslandBlues" oh I see what you did there

  • yusef is very nice

  • Beautiful piece. He seems to have a constant vibrato - yet another difference between classical and jazz performance. (Although some, like Louis Armstrong, just used a terminal vibrato).

  • @jazzflutist He, Hubert Laws and Bobbi Humphrey were the Jazz vanguard of the 60's and 70's, but try to listen to some Lloyd McNeil. TREASURES (Baobab) 1976. Hard to find, but I have the vinyl and it's worth the effort. How do you like Ian Anderson's playing (Jethro Tull)?

  • @curtnevan : Haven't heard of Lloyd McNeil. Anderson was my original inspiration (Jean-Pierre Rampal as well). I think Anderson is a groundbreaker. Almost as if he removed anything/everything "technical" from the flute and just poured in pure expression instead.

  • @jazzflutist The really surprising thing about Ian Anderson is that his recent playing shows much more technique than I realized. I think he always had that, and chose to pull out all the stops. How about Thijs Van Leer (FOCUS). On Youtube is HOCUS POCUS by FOCUS. One of the most amazing performances I've ever seen. Flute is just one of his instruments, but WOW!
