Hi, these are excellent photos. I've recently started on Holga and I was wondering if I could post some of your videos on Tumblr? Only if you consent, if not, no hard feelings, you still do great work :)
@paris821 You can, but only under the condition that you send me links to the vids as you've posted them on tumblr, and that you don't go claiming crdit for them (not trying to be an asshole, but I've had people do this to me before).
hey i recently bought the same one you have, i was wondering where you could buy the film.. can you buy it anywhere? or only on the internet or particular stores? thanks ;)
@thaobapao If you've got a good phtography shop near you, you should be able to pick medium format film up there.
If that's not an option, there's plenty to choose from online. I receommend ebay, as that's often a good place to buy packs of 5 for discounted prices.
The holga 120 uses medium format whilst the 135 is regular 35mm film. My preference would be for the formet, due to the larger image that you get, but you could produce great images with the 135 if you went with that.
As with the holga v diana+, I've only ever used a holga so I'm not qualified to comment. I understand, however, that the diana is very similar, so you couldn't go wrong with either. :)
The stairs at 0:21 remind me a lot of a stair set below the main bridge in Edinburgh, Scotland. Good memories:) if only i had a camera like this to take a shot (and the talent for it)
I get all of my colour film that I shoot with my holga cross-processed, but when I scan my film into my computer, I sometimes restore them to 'normal'.
Some of the shots in this slideshow retain their crossed look, whilst others do not.
Thanks for all your slide shows, and learning alot from your comments. I cant wait tomake a slide show of mine! I gave my scanner away and now i need acquire a scanner.
Basically, I scan my negatives into the computer using a flatbed scanner and into photoshop. Once I've finished with the images there, I save them as jpegs and upload them onto various photo websites.
wow those are some incredible images, im waiting for my holga to arive, i cant wait. some of those colour shots had amazing tone, what sort of film do you tend to use?......keep up the great work
When shooting colour, I tend to shoot Fuji Provia E6 slide film, usually using an ISO spped of 400. Once my shots are taken, I get them cross-processed in C-41 chemistry. Black and white shots are usually taken on either Ilford Delta/hp5, or Kodak Tri-X, again on ISO400 film.
Why did I see many of these pictures on Deviantart?

Those stairs in that shot were at the bottom of Calton street, so perhaps you're actually thinking of the very same place.

are they all cross-processed?
aiensuba 2 years ago
I get all of my colour film that I shoot with my holga cross-processed, but when I scan my film into my computer, I sometimes restore them to 'normal'.
Some of the shots in this slideshow retain their crossed look, whilst others do not.
AScannerDarkly22 2 years ago
Hi, is it easy to restore them to normal?
In case it is, which program do you use?
cheers! =)
marbacc 2 years ago
Yes, it's pretty easy.
Photoshop is my weapon of choice, and you can use the colour balance controls to bring a crossed shot back to normal, or vice versa.
AScannerDarkly22 2 years ago
how do you keep their cross processed look?
the scanner at the store where i always develop my rolls, tends to normalize xpro-d colors.
jiniton 2 years ago
I scan the results myself, so the scanner that I have picks the colours up as they are on the film.
Can you ask at the store for them to compensate for the scanners attempts at normalisation?

is the flatbed scanner is different from the normal scanner we usually use? thx! =D
haiedwin 3 years ago
It's just a regular flatbed scanner, but one that allows the scanning of medium format film.
I use an Canon Canoscan8400F.
