  • the sound lagged because of the program, or was it intentional because the meteor striked far away?

  • @3931Kong Hi, sound travels at around 360m/s so i gave it 1 second delay to simulate around a quarter mile distance...

  • @pslavi sound travels at 330 m/s. So it was intentionally delayed. Nice work!

  • @3931Kong Thanks mate. I just googled it and says 340m/s at sea level lol.... I guess we are both wrong lol! could be google is wrong 2..lol

  • If you freeze frame the video you can actually realise the explosion is above the meteor :) lol

  • ok. it all cool and stuff. but if that happened to you, you would have died before you could have said presto. not so long that you would have gone 2,000 miles home dried off your camera, re built it so you could put it on you-tube and die right there on the spot. that wasn't real, but a lot of the fake crap Ive seen on you-tube, that was pretty cool.

  • Hi, hellkitchenification . There is a lot involved making this video. The sky is a custom environment texture, the water is arch & design water texture animated, the meteor is 3ds max particle system, the explosion is fume fx... rendered in mental ray..etc etc... theres too much to describe..... thanks for watching...

  • Yeah, also, make the sound effect not as long after. I understand the effect you were trying to achieve, but sound isn't THAT slow. I reckon half a second's delay would be better. Oh and another thing, the smoke didn't look like it was actually 'smoking'. It looked like it was all just moving in one straight line. It was a little weird, but still, it was great. For the water, did you use a plane with animated turbulent noise and a material with the water shader?

  • I gave it 1 second for sound considering so as to say the bomb was around a quarter mile away and for water i used a plane and arch and design water material with some animated ripple.....
