  • It's a bit of a logical fallacy there from VenomfangX (and from many theists who claim that taking on a set of limitations is "freedom"). He means "freedom from sin", in the manner that handcuffing yourself to a radiator is "freedom from movement". He wants you to infer the generally accepted principle of "freedom" while defining it by a different standard. This is the textbook definition of equivocation.

  • surely that mean that the dog does't matter. Why do you care about a dog? they don't have a soul and won't be joining you in heaven or hell. sorry that might break your heart to make you confused. But stop making stupid videos that make no sense.

  • tHE IS THAT THE IS NO GOD GUYS JUST BE HAPPY AND HAVE FUN

  • *facepalm*

You missed the point of his words ENTIRELY! And rather then giving any legitimate argument back, you mocked him. (Btw, your annoying as all hell when you laugh.) If your just trying to alienate people rather then have a legitimate discussion, your doing a great job. I swear, atleast other youtube athiests who waste there time trying to redefine christianity dont seem to be TRYING to annoy people.

  • Is this guy filming in his car because his mommy might hear him??

  • Good old Geerup!

    Always laughable wrong.

  • People crap wherever they want, bite each other, and do "all sorts of crazy things too"

  • The issue is when a dog dies, it isn't gonna go to heaven or hell. LoL. If you were a dog, and you died, that's it, no more existence period. What would then be the purpose to life itself?

  • I don't know what you mean by purpose? Iassume by making that statement you are a creationist as it really is an absolutely unnecessary question in an evolutionary framework.

personally, my hope when I die is that my existence ends. Heaven might be great for a few hundred years but the prospect of trillions of years unending frightens me to the core (or it would do IF I was a Christian).

  • Apparently you haven't heard much about Heaven then. Ha.

  • I have heard waaaay too much about heaven. Don't tell me though, you are Christian number 1000 with 'idea of what heaven is #1000???

You obviously believe in a non-eternal heaven, fine fine fine - very few other christians do I have to say.

  • Oh no, I know Heaven will be for eternity. The idea that I could spend eternity with a loving God, who had the love to give me life, is amazing. Rather, you our of arrogance, or whatever it is driving you away from he truth, will throw you right into the arms of good ol' Satan. Whether or not you believe me, doesn't matter.

  • @VanRiper101

Do you realise that you assert your views in the manner of a madman?

'I can see the pixies at the bottom of the garden and if you cannot then goblin king will eat you'. So maybe you find this comparison insulting but all I want to show you is that bold assertion is no basis for a discussion: I am no more 'arrogant' for not believing in YOUR god as you are 'arrogant' for not believing in the Hindu gods.

  • @VanRiper101 Wow. How Christian of you! lol!! Ridiculous!!

@noelplum99 this guy is simply blinded. He reminds me of myself about 8 months - 1 year ago.

  • @noelplum99 As a Christian we believe that GOD will glorify our bodies so we can be in his presence for eternity. So a Trillion years is like nothing to GOD since he created time , space, and matter.

  • @VanRiper101 They are not AWARE of God. We are. Being aware leads to a choice, live for yourself or live for God. You are actually unaware that you played semantics?

Atheists do not know our origins. Therefore believing in a creator is plausable not laughable. since no one knows, when he laughs, he is accidentally confusing, his opinion with facts of the universe. Ask Pascal. lol Better you hide that smarme, and disagree respectfully.

  • I would prefer the freedom of a dog, so long as humans didn't exist!

  • God gives mankind the freedom to choose!?....uh, either love him or burn in a firey pit for eternity...hmmm. I can do without that kind of freedom.

  • "imagine there was no god, how would you disprove that?" good question

proving or disproving involvels using things in reality to decide if something is real. Supernatural ideas such as God, fairies, unicorns, magic, and dragons are not in the natural observable world so trying do disprove God by means of evidence is futile.

the question is, is there enough evidence to believe in a god or other supernatural things?

  • Ha ha ha, LOVE the ending!

  • He doesn't explain it too well, but think of freedom as having the right constraints. Like a fish can have freedom outside of water, but in the end it leads to death which isn't freedom at all.

  • Freedom in the sense of having the proper constraints? What?

  • He is referring to animals "murdering" people, which is still pretty funny. I bet you could fill ten stadiums with children that know more about biology than Geerrup does.

  • Be careful what you wish for....

  • no no no you see the dog can't rebel against god because god also does that crazy stuff. why do you think dog is god backwards?

  • I don't want to have the freedom of the dog, because then if I happen to run across many of the youtubers, I'd be likely to want to sniff their asses.

  • I've just watched Geerup's video.

    Loooooonnnniiiiieeeeeee!

  • the5y5tem:"..absorbs shock so efficiently a 3m fall does not result in serious brain damage."

This is a meaningless statement. A 3m fall onto rigid legs would probably fracture the hips, pelvis or various vertebrae, plus possible occiput/C1/C2, brainstem or brain damage.

The antero-posterior curves of the human vertebral column have nothing to do with shock absorbtion. They are nothing more than an incomplete adaptation to our upright posture.

  • OK, let's try again:

"look at biochemistry.. For each part to individually evolve by chance..makes little sense."

And thus the5y5tem reveals the typical creationist's lack of understanding of what evolution is and how it works.

This is why creationism is a pernicious evil and why it must be opposed on all fronts. Its lies and propaganda cause this sort of confusion in the minds of people who are otherwise obviously intelligent.

  • BoneySkylord, I'm not a creationist. I thought I made that clear in an earlier post.

  • Sorry, my mistake.

You said:"..I don't disagree with evolution merely the chance aspect of it... Evolution frequently defies its own 'laws' & displays a creativity far more attributable to design than randomness."

How could I possibly have taken that to mean you're a creationist!? Although it does reveal a profoundly poor understanding of evolution and also hints that design should be considered as a more likely option.

Sorry, the5y5tem, you ARE a creationist!

  • Alright, I guess it came out wrong. I believe as much as you do all the way to the big bang. I don't think there's really much point arguing really. Creationism will die one day, I'm simply trying to enlighten creationists within the church.

  • I'm not accusing you of lying but you have a strange subs list for someone who eschews creationism for evolution. You sub to geerup, VenomFangX and the way of the master with no donexodus2, thunderf00t, cdk007 or noelplum99 (heh, i couldn't resist)!!

  • Well yeah, but I've criticized all these personally in regards to creationism. But okay, point taken, I should listen more to both sides of this all debate...

  • I keep trying to add a comment but it isn't posting! This is a test.

  • I haven't watched the entire clip of Geerups. I've only seen what you posted here. There is much more to do with freewill and mans nature then what is shown here.

Man, for example, has been given domminion over the planet and all life on it. This gift is not enjoyed by the dog, or any other animal.

Having the gift of freewill and using it wisely may result in an eternity spent in heaven. Also something the dog will not enjoy.

    con't

  • pt 2

    Regarding our nature:

God has given us two natures. One that came from God when he breathed life into us (Gods nature/image) and a second nature that is rooted in the dust that we were created from (the world, or flesh nature).

Freewill allows us to choose which nature we will follow.

God, however, does not let us choose blindly. He gives us instructions and teachers so that we can choose wisely.

So I choose this over the dogs life.

    P.S.

I do enjoy your vids Noelplum99.

  • GEERUP has his entertaining moments, a fitting replacement for PCS. He gives no more thought to logic and consistency than shawn did.

  • Geerup did create a humerous video ... and I agree with you holding him accountable for what he is saying, but at least in regards to the "sending out law enforcement to put down the murderous animals" part ... I'm fairly sure he was saying when animals kill HUMANS that we send people out to put them down, and that DOES happen where I live.

  • I'm sure that was what he meant but he was deliberately misappropriating the word 'murder' and i wasn't having any of that (and imagining he meant animals killing their own species, which IS what muder is when all is said and done) made me laugh whenever i thought of it!

  • I'm a dog "owner", but I'm actually a slave to that bitch. Yeah, sometimes I think I'd like to lead a dog's life. Then I could go murder a squirel and claim "I never ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. I can, therefore, do what I want. God made you in his image; irresponsible. But you had to eat the fucking fruit. Stupid twat." God said, "I made you wrong; and it's your falt!", because he has the power to be irresponsible. He is omnipotent, after all.

  • The Bible says that all men are slaves, no exceptions.

You are either a slave to sin or a slave to righteousness. A slave to self or a slave to Christ.

There is a neat story about Abraham Lincoln buying a slave girl who was abused her whole life. Abraham Lincoln tells her she is free to go anywhere she would like... She is skeptical but in the end after it's clear he wants her to be free she refused to leave and said she would rather serve a master like him who loves then actually be free.

  • OK what is sin?

  • A trespass against God's law as written and commanded in the Bible.

  • I wish I was a dog...

  • I'm a dogwalker, and I know a dog that likes to eat it's own shit--there's always one in every group.

I don't really mean anything by this comment, but, yeah.

  • woof! woof!

  • These people have to be republicans, because god only talks to republicans.

  • /signed

  • Well done, sir. I encourage you to watch my video response to Geerup's "Atheist Parasites" when convenient. I think we're on the same page about this guy...

    -Modias

  • It's always a laugh when loonies say "God created us in his own image".

Serves him right, the bastard. Fancy designing the human lumbo-sacral joint to be so unstable & to look like a "good enough" evolutionary adaptation from quadrupedia.

I hope God enjoys his eternity of L5 disc prolapse, spondylolisthesis and raging sciatica.

  • not to mention the pointless nipples and raging erections in bad situations

  • What are you talking about, the spine and sacrum are considerably well designed when you consider their function.

  • "..spine and sacrum are considerably well designed.."

    Donnnng! Massive fail.

For a start, they're not "designed" anyway.

Also, their "design" is pretty crap - when you consider their function.

What idiot would build a skyscraper on a foundation angled at 45 degrees, add a layer of friable rubber & not use enough guy ropes to make it stable?

Oh, of course, God did, didn't he? With the human sacrum & verterbral column.

  • Why should I care about your critical analysis of the human body? Most claims to 'flaws' in the human body are merely conjectures based on current ignorance than genuine bad design.

'Junk' DNA was labelled as a waste of space, a remnant of genetic changes, until they realized its importance for controlling the expression of 'non-junk' DNA.

As a scientist myself, I see your assumption of this bad design as a show of your arrogance, be humble enough to accept we don't understand everything.

  • "Why should I care about your critical analysis of the human body?"

Fair enough. I'm not asking you to take my word for it, other than that this has been my particular area of expertise for the last twenty years. As a scientist yourself (an undergraduate, I assume from your claimed age of 20) you'll want to check the data yourself. Very laudable.

Start with the primary curvature of newborn humans then research the comparative rates of L5 disc prolapses between humans and other animals.

  • I think that would be better phrased 'until they realised the importance in of PARTS of it for controlling the expression of 'non-junk' DNA'. Your sentence suggests that these regulatory sequences account for the bulk of the so-called junk DNA: they do not. However, i agree it would be foolish to rule out other discoveries untilo we know a whole lot more.

"As a scientist myself,"....... a scientist that subscribes to Fred. I shall say no more.

  • Actually i will say more.

Leaving the spine to one side how about the trigeminal nerve (had to check up on the name)?

It seems a bizarre arrangement for a nerve to serve both the inner ear and jaw from a design perspective. In fact in foetal development both the jawbones and malleus and incus form in the mandibular arch. Compare to a reptile where the ear doesnt have these bones, they exist as jawbones instead and the nerve pathways make 100x more sense. This makes sense only with evolution.

  • Have you perhaps considered the fact that the fragility of human beings is also intentional?

Our immune systems have a vast number of weaknesses and are by no means perfect, but this does not signify flaws or mistakes unless the creator intended perfection of certain elements in the first place.

The world itself is incredibly fragile in the entire universal scheme of things, that's exactly what makes life and everything so beautiful.

  • So you are saying that God has deliberately made our spine one that looks better designed to work in a horizontal plane than a vertical plane (another evolutionary hangover we suffer from, a facet of our physiology that has not had enough evolutionary time to adapt fully from tens of millions of years in a different posture) just to make sure we will be predisposed to an inordinate amount of back complaints in our middle and old ages?

Ok, I'll take your word for it!

  • The S-shaped spine serves its purpose. If you want to complain about physical problems complain about the heart which causes a helluva a lot more problems.

On the other hand, a scientific God would want his creation to learn about his creation in order to add/modify it. That's precisely what we're commanded to do in this world. If the world were perfect and there was no room for our imput I would consider it a boring and meaningless place.

  • I don't think the curvature is the major problem with the spinal column, it is the arrangements of the discs and the compressive force the structure is subjected to in our upright stance.

  • yet this arrangement absorbs shock so efficiently a 3m fall does not result in serious brain damage.

  • Yes, it absorbs shock effectively. If the spinal column was an absolute pile of unmitigated shite then we would not have been able to evolve to stand upright at all. Anyone who tries to tell you the spine is not 'fit for purpose' is doing it a disservice. Anyone who tells you that stripped of its evolutionary heritage a better spine could quite easily be designed is making a different and more relevant point.

  • Have you taken a good look at the biochemistry of human beings, even simple organisms? For each part to individually evolve by chance (I don't disagree with evolution merely the chance aspect of it) makes little sense. Evolution frequently defies its own 'laws' and displays a creativity far more attributable to design than randomness.

The concept of a multiverse is the scientific equivalent of God, both can result in this process without having any physical evidence for either.

  • If God didn't want us to be engineers, he wouldn't have left us simply with caves. If he didn't want us to be psychologists, he wouldn't have made human nature so complex and unpredictable.

  • I've heard the adage many times 'If God had wanted us to fly he would have given us wings'. Your version appears to be 'If God hadn't wanted us to fly he would have given us wings hehe'

    seriously, a question for you:

This is an omniscient being we are talking about - why would he give a shit whether we are engineers or psychologists? At least the hindus seem to understand the implications o0f omniscience and omnipotence with brahman, christians seem to try and make it folkesy and cuddly

  • If you understood God, would not that imply that he is a construct of man? If he didn't give a shit about us, he wouldn't have wasted his time coming down from his throne to be a human being in all its weaknesses.

  • Which is exactly why none of it makes any sense whatsoever, you guys are constantly ascribing human emotions to an infinite being and yet, when it suits, you blithely state that it is beyond the ken of mankind to understand God.

Enjoyed the discussion the5y5tem, alas it is 1am here and i have work tomorrow :)

  • Who honestly cares who I'm subscribed too. The fact that you need to respond to those who have more subscribers than yourself in order to accumulate hits doesn't say much for yourself.

  • I wish I understood your point but as it's you i'm responding to and you have but one subscriber I can't really get my head round your point.

  • I don't think he understood "ascribing" . Very funny.

  • you do make a very good point, but to be able to reject or accept God is indeed freedom. Animals cannot reject God, they can simply do his will.

  • So when a dog humps my leg he is doing Gods Will??????

  • In a sense yes, the dog is simply trying to satisfy its sex drive.

  • I feel sorry for lost souls like yourself. I hope you find Jesus Christ before it is too late. He went through so much hardship for you. Your no different than those who hailed him kinf of the jews with the thorns, spit in his face, nailed him to the cross, and publicly humiliated him. All of that was for you. It is disgusting that you think this reality is made up of chaos and nothingness. Every design has a designer. Your no different. Flesh and codes.

  • scruzer, next time you are in the wilderness look at all the beautiful plants evolution made for you. Then with a big sigh of relief realise that life is beautiful and too short to be afraid for things that are not there, no matter how hard you believe in them.

But with eager hope, 21 the creation looks forward to the day when it will join Gods children in glorious freedom from death and decay. 22 For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time." • They don't have the same laws to follow though. I think that's the point.

  • If we did have the same laws that means that having 'one night stands' is ok in gods eyes as is bestiality (ever had a dog hump your leg??)

  • My comment was a reply to a person to who said animals do follow the same set of laws people do., Was this misinterpreted as disagreeing with your video or did you just feel like bringing up bestiality as a point of general interest?

All animals must have been created in god's image; but, I'm guessing the real image of god is represented by Sea Monkeys - not the real ones (brine shrimp), but the happy, playful ones that used to be depicted in comic book advertisements.
