How much do you spend on computers and computer parts in that time? Depends. In my own experience the price ratio of setting up a PS3 to a PC is 1 : 2 but the price ratio of games I buy for the PS3 compared to the PC? It can go from 6 : 1, up to 30 : 1.
For example I bought mass effect 2 for the PS3 last month $60. But last year I bought a Valve offer $100 with 50 games with all Bioware and Eidos games in it. I just save $2850 from that alone.
I like to be economical I don't just go for the kill. I try to find ways to save as much as possible.
PC gaming can give financial fragmentation from day 1 but it has an economical advantage in the long run by maximizing it depending on how much input you feed it and how you get the input. If you don't maximize it, it would remain potentially expensive.
Console gaming is easy on the pocket from day 1 but can burn a hole on your wallet depending on how much input you feed it with respect to time.
PC is the best because all these graphics and all were MADE by computers so you and these are not the best graphics and art that they made on a computer it could be even better you should realise how great the graphics are wen you play on the computers of the developments they need to let there computers and graphic card up to date
as an xbox 360 fan i can honstly say ps3 looks better but anyone with any sense knows different games look better on different consoles i dont know why but the proof is in the pudding. same way read dead redemption looks considerably better on 360 than ps3 with much sharper images and colour contrast, thats gams for you i guess....
Exactly my point it will look amazing on consoles and look what you had to spend to be able to play it and probably not even on max settings more then the 360 and thats just the gpu. You do understand that Crysis 2 will scale 1-2 years into the future so not even the GTX480/HD5870 will max it out now.
Only time will tell but my guess is you need at least tri or quad sli if you really want to max it at 1080P with smooth framerate. Hopefully a demo will come out soon. It will be more demanding then Metro 2033 and if you look at the benchmarks a gtx 580 gets 33 fps in it on 1080P and thats with Physx off with it on it drops to the 20s.

Don't hate I have both xbox and ps3 and I say ps3 is better because we actually have hdmi while xbox uses video- component wires plus we have blue ray which let's us have big games without big discs. I have a lot of faith in the developer's abilities, but there are some features that you simply can't put on a console due to hardware restrictions like the small graphics cards and slow processors. I don't know why everyone is saying it looks better on Xbox360 or it looks better on PS3. What makes it look better is what kind of HDTV you have to display it with. You don't know if they used different HDTVs or the same for this video. They could of used a better TV with one then the other.

@caod27 I don't mean to drag this out or sound rude, but how do you pay more for console gaming than PC gaming? A new gen system comes out, what every 10 years or so? How much do you spend on computers and computer parts in that time? Not to mention, if one is not specifically computer handy, the price of a technician or service of some kind to upgrade/ modify your computer. As far as the graphics boost, well, you get what you PAY for. I have been hurt by PC gaming before.

Here's my timeline:
Oct 07- Bought PS3 around $600
Dec 08- Assembled a custom gaming PC $2K, reference game was Crysis.
*from Oct 07 to Dec 08 I bough 12 PS3 games. That, along with the console cost me around $1300 of PS3 gaming.
*from Dec 08 to Dec31 09 I bought 120+ games on Steam and 25 PS3 games. That along with the rig cost me $2.5K of PC gaming and $2.8 of PS3 gaming as of Dec 31 09.
AS of this year
$4K PC gaming w/ 300+ games, $4K PS3 gaming w/ just 50 games.

Depends. In my own experience the price ratio of setting up a PS3 to a PC is 1 : 2 but the price ratio of games I buy for the PS3 compared to the PC? It can go from 6 : 1, up to 30 : 1.
For example I bought mass effect 2 for the PS3 last month $60. But last year I bought a Valve offer $100 with 50 games with all Bioware and Eidos games in it. I just save $2850 from that alone.
I like to be economical I don't just go for the kill. I try to find ways to save as much as possible.

PC gaming can give financial fragmentation from day 1 but it has an economical advantage in the long run by maximizing it depending on how much input you feed it and how you get the input. If you don't maximize it, it would remain potentially expensive.
Console gaming is easy on the pocket from day 1 but can burn a hole on your wallet depending on how much input you feed it with respect to time.

Exactly my point it will look amazing on consoles and look what you had to spend to be able to play it and probably not even on max settings more then the 360 and thats just the gpu. You do understand that Crysis 2 will scale 1-2 years into the future so not even the GTX480/HD5870 will max it out now.

Only time will tell but my guess is you need at least tri or quad sli if you really want to max it at 1080P with smooth framerate. Hopefully a demo will come out soon. It will be more demanding then Metro 2033 and if you look at the benchmarks a gtx 580 gets 33 fps in it on 1080P and thats with Physx off with it on it drops to the 20s.

Don't hate I have both xbox and ps3 and I say ps3 is better because we actually have hdmi while xbox uses video- component wires plus we have blue ray which let's us have big games without big discs. And I took apart the ps3 and xbox 360 the ps3 has a a good graphic card and an amazing processor while the xbox 360 has an okay processor and an amazing graphic card. The
Ps3 will probably run this better because we have pysX support and that we have better processors

I have a lot of faith in the developer's abilities, but there are some features that you simply can't put on a console due to hardware restrictions like the small graphics cards and slow processors. PS3 does have a relatively fast processor but the software engineers hate working with Sony's PS3 because of compatibility problems. And the 360 is more easily accepting of game software but it's pretty slow. PC improves on every hardware aspect there is.

Crysis 2 will be much bether optimized then crysis becouse of consoles,we need to thank consoles for that couse consoles are reason why Crytek will finaly optimize this engine,it will have lower sistem requirements than crisys but with one big diference it will be DX11,so if u dont have DX11 card u will have to play in DX10.Me personaly dont see such big diference betwen DX11 and DX10 like there is betwen DX10 and DX9.And dont forget that we will run it on Windows 7 not that crapy shit wista.
