@otherrandomhero Pretty crazy. Circle picking is not something I'd recommend to most people, I think it's much easier to be successful with wrist picking. Takayoshi destroys though. Then again, I'm not a huge fan of the tone and lack of attack of circle picking.

how you can tell a malmsteen clone:
uses a strat / uses "Circular Picking" / has a fully scalloped fretboard / uses bridge pickup for most shred passages(one thing that most guitarists dont do) / uses lots of malmsteens signature licks.

A few songs that aren't "Yngwie cloned". I just don't know how different you can sound when you play in the style of neo-classical metal. I mean...Yngwie DOES play in Phyrgian alot. So if someone were to shred in Phyrgian in a neo-class context, I wouldn't be surprised that it sounds similar.
@sunnyjim98 Well he learned from this other Japanese guitarist Kelly Simonz (who pretty much loves Yngwie also) so I guess if you've learned in the style of Yngwie the entire time you'd probably be used to playing on those scalloped ESP strat-typed guitars. I mean those guitars are almost ideal to shred on for this kind of stuff.

@pelelecolon Because most of what he plays is the same runs and patterns in every song I've heard. Whether its Animetal or Galneryus, he never changes his solos. I like that Ohmura takes more of a Kelly Simonz approach and throws some jazz and blues licks in with the normal neo-classical sounds.
@CaptainAshra Jazz and Blues liks is great Syu and Ohmura are great but if we going to put that kind i go with old school like Olarn Promjai or Pop the sun they are classic legends asian guitar player!But still tho this generation i cant compare witch one is good Syu or Ohmura or Gentaro or Satoshi bunch of great player with diferent skill!

@sunnyjim98 Well he learned from this other Japanese guitarist Kelly Simonz (who pretty much loves Yngwie also) so I guess if you've learned in the style of Yngwie the entire time you'd probably be used to playing on those scalloped ESP strat-typed guitars. I mean those guitars are almost ideal to shred on for this kind of stuff.

@pelelecolon Because most of what he plays is the same runs and patterns in every song I've heard. Whether its Animetal or Galneryus, he never changes his solos. I like that Ohmura takes more of a Kelly Simonz approach and throws some jazz and blues licks in with the normal neo-classical sounds.

@CaptainAshra Jazz and Blues liks is great Syu and Ohmura are great but if we going to put that kind i go with old school like Olarn Promjai or Pop the sun they are classic legends asian guitar player!But still tho this generation i cant compare witch one is good Syu or Ohmura or Gentaro or Satoshi bunch of great player with diferent skill!
