Rudy Dhaenens was killed in a car accident in '98. I was so happy for him after he won the worlds. RIP Rudy!

One of my favorite pieces of cycling coverage. If you don't think Dirk was doped think about it. Over 200k out front, then he drops a fresh Hodge and takes Rudy over the top. Poor Gayant, every time I watch it my heart breaks for him.I'm guessing Lemond would of thrown Bauer some money if they had caught them.

It's great to see these cycling videos and to hear Phil Liggett commenting, but the music in the background is absolutely terrible.

Hey, that's John Tesh! By today's standards of live coverage, it does seem awful, but back then, it was all we had, and for some of us it has a great nostalgia to it from a more golden age of cycling.

I love these 1980s cycling videos. The godawful metal power ballad for background music, the ugly sunglasses, the forgotten jerseys, and of course the wonderful racing.
